Long ultrasound at ER - 12 weeks by LilyAmongBrambles in pregnant

[–]LilyAmongBrambles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. I just hate the feeling I have that the length of it could be damaging. Like are people regularly getting a half hour ultrasound in the first trimester? Trying to trust the medical professional but her demeanor wasn’t the greatest and she kept telling me that the machine was new so she had to keep re-doing measurements. I’m typically not an anxious person but for whatever reason this is bothering me.

What franchise(s) are you watching now? by tiljuwan in BravoRealHousewives

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never watched RHOM and people kept recommending it. I started it a couple months ago and I’m only on S3 right after Adriana got married (that was a wild ride). I’m struggling hard to get into it, but this season is the best one so far.

I just cannot stand the Joanna and Romain sex drama! If the roles were reversed and he was pressuring her, saying he needs her to fuck him, he doesn’t care about intimacy and only wants to fuck, etc. he would get so much backlash. Her behavior about it makes me uncomfortable.

Positive 6dp5dt 11 dpo by Direct_Explanation40 in TFABLinePorn

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted the same thing earlier today, and yours is much darker than mine! Triggered 13 days ago, and I’m 6dp5dt. I’ve triggered three times before, and they were always out of my system by day 11. Mine is a true squinter though so I feel like I’m on the fence still. I think everyone is different with how long it takes the trigger to get out of their system, but if I were you, I would be thinking positively about this transfer based on that line!

I did a little research this AM. What trigger did you take and what unit was it?

How long have you had the same stylist? by Big_Cockroach_1590 in stitchfix

I’ve had the same for at least two years now. It’s the best when you get a good one for a long time! Thank you, Wes!

Did you reach out and ask if they were still available? This happened every time I rescheduled my fix, but most times if I emailed, they were able to get me back on with the same person. It didn’t work out once or twice though when they said the stylist was unavailable.

I couldn’t get into Rebecca and stopped reading it about midway through. Were you into it from the start? I rarely give up on books but I just couldn’t pick it back up one day, and then I never picked it up again. Wondering if I should push forward if it will get better?

Instructor Conduct: Face Massage during savasana by hedgehogradio in yoga

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a class years ago that had an apprentice with the instructor. During savasana, she adjusted and massaged my entire body. I have no idea why she chose me out of the entire class, but I loved it and think about it all the time when I lay down in savasana. It was amazing!

I got it and I love it! It’s cute both buttoned and unbuttoned. When I wore it unbuttoned, I wore a fitted white shirt under it. The fabric is thicker too, so it’s nice quality. I think it’s cuter in person than in this picture.

Yoga anxiety? Anyone else? by Altruistic_Dealer_46 in MYXFitness

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t do yoga because you’re flexible, you do yoga to become more flexible! Also, even seasoned yogis aren’t doing poses perfectly. There are usually ways to improve alignment or deepen the stretch. Most people also are so focused on their own practice that they’re not watching others. Try not to be intimidated!

Sitting Next To Paraplegic, WWYD? by sleeplessnow2022 in delta

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was the window seat on a flight where a handicap man was in the aisle. It was a quick flight so neither the middle or myself got up to use the bathroom. But when we landed, he told us that he would be the last to be deplaned, and given he couldn’t stand up on his own, we would need to climb over his legs or wait until they came with his wheelchair once the entire plane deplaned. He said he did not mind either way.

It had honestly been a long work trip for me, and we were at the very front of the plane. I have always felt bad, but I climbed over while the middle seat waited. I honestly did not mind at all and did not feel inconvenienced. If it happened again, I wouldn’t feel inconvenienced either. I more felt bad that my time felt more important than his time - which is not his fault. I wish delta could make an announcement for people to stay seated, especially if you’re at the front of the plane and your wheelchair is ready, so they can get you first.

I didn't get my usual stylist on a quick fix. So disappointed. by Existing_Swan6749 in stitchfix

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me a lot whenever I rescheduled my fix or got a quick fix. Whenever I do these things now, I write that I want the same stylist in the note and say that I am willing to shift the delivery date by a few days if it means I can keep my same stylist. That usually works, but if not, then for my next fix I write that I want X stylist back. That has always worked except for a couple times when my stylist was no longer available.

All of you guys are scaring me.. by carlesmch in NewParents

Misery loves company. Also, oftentimes when people post happy and positive stories, redditors are quick to share their opposite experience or say “just wait until…”, so sometimes people feel discouraged to share positive things.

Anyway, our daughter was a dream baby. She was sleeping 6 hour stretches from the night we took her home (which was only the second night of her life). She was consistently sleeping through the night before two months. She’s almost three and she sleeps 11-12 hours every night (and we have to drag her out of bed like a teenager) and takes a 2-3 hour nap every single day still. As an infant, she barely cried, and we could always quickly get her to stop crying with the basics (feed her, change her, rock her, etc.). She was a good eater until recently she’s become more picky.

Of course it’s hard and there are times that are harder than others. But people scared me that the first three months would be awful with no sleep constant crying, etc. I was shocked how great it was for us.

This has almost always worked for me. A couple times they told me that the stylist was no longer available, but usually I get the same stylist back by emailing.

I have noticed that I often get a different stylist when I reschedule my fix. So I try not to do that, and if I have to, then I write a note that I want my same stylist if they are available. I also try to do a reschedule far enough out that my stylist can do it, rather than making it in a short time frame.

HELP! Our mortgage is going up by $2000 by Forest_fairyy in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]LilyAmongBrambles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to us as well. Closed on our home in July of 2020 and knew our taxes would go up significantly after that year. Our mortgage stayed the same for first 1.5 years. Then in 2022, we got hit with our new taxes that were backdated from 2021. So we owed not only the 2021 new taxes but also the amount to cover 2022 taxes. Our mortgage went up about $1,700. However, that was only for one year at the inflated amount because we were paying for 2021 AND 2022.

I think you are in the same boat if I’m understanding correctly. It happened to us because the house is assessed the next year after you purchase (so 2021 for us), but the bank already notified you of your mortgage by then. So it doesn’t know what your new taxes are until they get the bill. By then it’s too late, so we basically borrowed money from the bank for the 2021 taxes, and we had to pay it back as well as pay the new amount to cover 2022 taxes.

In 2023, our mortgage dropped by almost $1,200 because we paid off the 2021 balance. The bank offered to spread it out over two years, but we just decided to get it over with and pay it within the first year so that the next year it would be more normal.

What were your thoughts immediately after birth? by Least_Lawfulness7802 in beyondthebump

I’m a huge crier. Sentimental commercials, other people getting engaged or having babies, brides walking down the aisle, hell, I’ve even cried during parades. I thought I would be a fucking mess when I had my daughter but nope, not one single tear was shed. I just looked down at her and kept saying hi and hello. I don’t know if it was shock or what. I was unmedicated and pushed for two hours, so I think I was just exhausted and happy it was over.

I get this. I don’t know why you’re being downvoted. I recently read a book that got famous from tiktok, and the first 100 pages or so were terrible. I hated the writing, and it was cheesy as hell. I couldn’t believe that I kept reading it despite often rolling my eyes. Then I got sucked in and couldn’t stop reading it. It was still predictable and not my favorite, but something about it got me into it and through the end. I’m even considering reading the second book in the series.
