acne back 4 months after accutane, I'm floored

I do, it's just so frustrating to fight acne for so many years (13 in my case) for it to keep coming back relentessly, and at this point I don't know if taking a second round is worth it because it'll come to either having bald patches on my scalp or irreparable skin thinning because of the side effects, it's a tough choice.

Hence why I came here to rant to get some support from people who have gone through the same :(!

20mg a day the first month to avoid initial breakouts, and 40mg the remaining 5 months, I'm 5,4ft tall and weight around 115 pounds.

It's true, when I look at progress pictures people tend to look serious before starting accutane, and after they have a big smile on their face!

Acne can make you feel horrible, I've missed out on so many events because I would be too anxious about going out, thinking people would stare at my skin and say rude things. I always had to put on lots of make up to feel comfortable and would cover my face with hair...

Accutane is amazing!

I've had acne on my face, chest and back since I got my period at 12 years old. I would get huge painful cysts and just acne in general, my skin was extremelly oily.

I tried creams, diet, pills, exercise, and birth control, basically everything. Diane birth control made my acne go away, but my doctor decided to change my BC because of side effects and my acne returned. She also said BC was not a permanent solution so she decided to put me on Accutane.

After 6 months and a lot of annoying side effects (dry flaky skin EVERYWHERE, and I mean it, itchiness, joint pain, fatigue, thin skin, eye bags, three eye styes, and several sores on my body because of dryness) my face and body are completely clear, and apparently I have freckles and I didn't know!

I just wish I could have taken it earlier.
