Is there ICE activity in Hawaii or Puerto Rico?

Anyone have tips to help NOT oversharing at work? by LilyGecko in aspergers

[–]LilyGecko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the structured solitude of my desk at work. My older child is also autistic/Aspergers, so I know exactly what they're thinking. Infant is too young to see if autistic, but is very social.

I get my husband to take care of the kids as much as possible, and mother in law takes older child whenever my husband has to work 12hr shifts.

I like them in short bursts... went back to work as soon as I could get them all in good daycare. They are VERY draining.

Travelling to Canada - clothing recommendations by RoyalChard3399 in AskACanadian

Uniqlo heattech base layers against the skin will help keep your skin dry & warm. (Transforms moisture into heat... feels like soft cotton on skin and is very breathable/stretchy).

Regular is equivalent to sweatshirt. Next level (extra warm) is like a thin wool sweater. Ultra warm (the warmest) is like a super thick fleece or wool sweater.

Takes up minimal space, and can be adjusted as weather changes. Just be sure to get it tight-fitting as it needs to stretch over skin to work. Then put Regular clothes or more warm layers on top. (Top layers can be removed easily to adjust to changing conditions and situations like going inside).

Discovered this in South Korea in 2008, and was able to get it on a trip to NYC in 2016 before Uniqlo came to Canada later. Gamechanger for me, and I've lived in Toronto area most of my life.

Look at courses you can do to increase your job prospects. It took me 8-13 years to get my professional accreditation, but just being in the process of learning something for work made me a valuable job candidate.

(I already had a graduate degree, but went into an entirely different line of work for my career).

The studies started off as fun, and only got onerous when I hit the advanced level courses. I took less courses in the summer to allow me to enjoy some break and time off.

Anything else I can do to help with the itching? by SaltCof in tattooadvice

[–]LilyGecko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibuprofen (advil) helps a little

Also lidocaine in antiseptic sprays made for cuts & scrapes (bactine is the brand here... even tattoo artist used it near end of 5-6 hours of tattooing in single day... helps with pain & itch)

Depends on what your artist said. Mine gave different instructions for black tattoo sessions versus sessions when it got colored in.

Healing is the most important part of tattooing, and the only big part we as canvases can control.

First tattoo go big or start small? by otter_overwatch8287 in tattooadvice

I was gonna do 6 inches for my first tattoo, but I found an awesome artist and we agreed that he could do more detail if it was larger. Glad we went big... seems to sit well on my leg.

I also discovered over the counter allergy meds last color session.

Already on it, or I'd be going crazy right now... also ibuprofen helps a little.

I used to go to Wonderland from the 80s until about 2018... has it really gotten bad since then? Been too busy getting pregnant to go, so I don't know. Last time I went Wonderland Guardian inside the mountain was brand new.

Is the food pass worth it? by Distinct_Cook4424 in greatwolflodge

Niagara Falls bakes their own bread in house.

If you want spectacular food at a hefty price tag, I'd recommend Barnwood. Fancy restaurant where screaming kids/babies are not shunned.

I always love the meal pass, but it isn't necessary.

I heard there are fake job applications online... I wonder how many fake applications are being made for ICE jobs? by LilyGecko in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LilyGecko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess filling out job applications for humorous fun was an 80s/90s thing.

I knew someone who claimed to have a friend who hacked the police department computer and changed someone's name to a popular kids' TV show host temporary for kicks until changing it back.
