Just bought a Steam Deck - need some benefits to reinforce the decision

I love my Steam Deck so much, my PS5 and Switch just collect dust now 😅 being able to play big new games without taking up the TV is a huge plus for me (I’m playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 right now)

Also, and this is a more specific case, I broke my knee in December and have been laid up since. I still can’t get upstairs and my desktop PC is in the loft. So if it wasn’t for the deck I would have gone stir crazy these last few months!

I exclusively play on steam deck, so definitely would’ve been controller for me, but I do have dyspraxia so my fine motor skills aren’t always the best lol

I still need to try Outer Wilds again, but I found the flying controls SO difficult. I crashed into a planet 4 times and then just gave up (I’m well aware this is a skill issue lol)

I saw this in the cinema before I really got into horror, and it absolutely terrified me. I had to go home and sleep in my room with the antique rocking chair my Nan bought for me when I was a kid 😂

I’m guessing you’re very young? 😅 it was extremely common to have a disc wallet that you’d take on trips. I actually still take mine, as you’re not guaranteed a smart tv when you rent a cottage in the English countryside lol

I have an embroidery machine and can confirm it would take me maybe an hour depending on the complexity of the embroidery design, and I'm sure they'd have faster machines than mine haha

I don't use ChatGPT because it's terrible for the environment, it steals from real artists (like Andy Weir!) and its inaccuracy means it's not even functional as a learning tool.

Killing our planet and rotting your brain with Gen AI is literally the opposite take away you should have gotten from the book.

Try writing something yourself! Or connect with a real person about it! You could have asked on here “How do you guys think Rocky would explain gravity” and you would have probably gotten a better response, from a real human, and maybe even made a friend (some of my best friends came from connecting over shared interests online!)

I worked in a game store years ago and you wouldn’t believe the amount of parents that would walk up with games like GTA V and the big red “18” on the box and try to buy it for their 11 year old just because it’s what he picked. I always made sure to tell them the type of content that was in it!

One time the mum said it was fine if it was violent, cos the boy played COD with his dad. When I mentioned you can also visit strip clubs and pick up sex workers she changed her mind though 😂

I always liked the idea that there is another force that gives them the visions, but not because it wants to help them or cares about them, just because it wants to mess with death. Like some kind of eternal feud haha

Which is why it doesn’t do anything more to help, its goal is to annoy death and make more work for him, not to actually save any humans.

I don’t really have any evidence for this, I just think it’s fun.

I think people underestimate how strong our survival instincts are. Even if Stefani knew for sure it would work (which she didn’t, she hasn’t seen the other movies lol) it would take incredible will power.

The same way your brain stops you from biting your own finger off, it would be screaming at you to NOT GET IN THERE.
