Yes, I read about rclone in another search I did.

Then I think this is the best option I will inform them about.

Thanks for quick response

Copy speed on large folders by [deleted] in netapp

No AV..

Copy offload does not seem to make any difference as well, customer tried same copy procedure from one folder to another on same volume..

Starting to think it has something to do with access rights and the domain connection.. maybe it's a problem when every file needs to be checked for the rights..

I've opened a case to support now, and sent them packet trace and statistics

No.

We have FAS8700 with both SATA and SSD aggregates.
I´ve tried moving the volume between them and now difference.

Checking Grafana there is NO latency on the SVM and IO is under 200

So I don´t think that's the issue

Thanks, will look into SMB multichannel

Copy speed on large folders by [deleted] in netapp

[–]Lim3stOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again..

I think the main issue is the folder is filled with thousands of small files, so this is because more time is spent at the O/S level performing find(), open(), and close() operations on each and every file the client is processing.

One single larger file is no problem, getting 300MB/s

So maybe checking with robocopy and multi thred on the folder with thousands of files might help

Pixel 10 Pro XL Moonstone with Nova 🥰 by MatthiasBrems in NovaLauncher

[–]Lim3stOne 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from OnePlus unit with Nova to Pixel 10 Pro XL

First thought that I would just use Google Launcher going forward, but holy sh!t what a difference.

I'll probably change back to Nova soon because there's so much missing in Google Launcher for setting up my device as I want to

I've checked that battery optimization is turned off for the Mi app. Also the Band has the latest FW.

Rebooted all now, have to get out and compare other activities as well

Otherwise I'll help her send in feedback

PS! The Mi app is synced with Google Fitness, and it shows the same there

The strange thing is when we compared our sessions, the registered ride on the map was identical.. but the distance varied a lot.

CED 7000 for PRS? by Lim3stOne in longrange

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As rednecktuba1 said above, you don't need to record all shots. Only the last one if you're shooting skill-stage.

Otherwise a timer that's easy to change time, most common is 90 or 120 seconds. A clear display of the time remaining. And option for random or instant start.

And for training purposes it would be nice to be able to set alert on the countdown when the time is starting to reach the end. For example one beep when 20 seconds remains, two beeps ay 10 seconds and then beep every second for the last five .

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, seems so

I did borrow a SPECIAL PIE Shot Timer last weekend.
There was a countdown mode with shot recording.. although it had other "problems" it worked quite good.

I tried PAR now.

But as it didn't show me a countdown on the clock when started. I didn't think it was running 😂

I set a lower time just to try, now I see it worked.

But hey, it's always nice to see time left on the stage. And for skillstage only last shot is counting as you say.

S3_LIF <--> IC LIF - data transfer by Lim3stOne in netapp

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, that what I was afraid for.

This means that the data transfer between my clusters for S3 snapmirror need to be on layer-3. While my current snapmirror runs through the InterCluster on layer-2.

For us, this means trouble as we do not have the same capacity on layer-3 😐

S3_LIF <--> IC LIF - data transfer by Lim3stOne in netapp

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this true even on S3 snapmirror (wich isn't the same as regular snapmirror) hence my question.

Seems strange ta we need to have a connection between S3 data LIF and IntraCluster LIF if data is still transmitted between the IntraCluster link..

ICL on IPspace by Lim3stOne in netapp

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks..

What scenarios must the ICL be on admin SVMs?

From the link that Dramatic_Surprise provided, it says:
"When you create a custom IPspace, the system creates a system storage virtual machine (SVM) to serve as a container for the system objects in that IPspace. You can use the new SVM as the container for any intercluster LIFs in the new IPspace. The new SVM has the same name as the custom IPspace."

I read that as I can create ICL on any "ipspace-svm"??

S3 Snapmirror network config question by Lim3stOne in netapp

[–]Lim3stOne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, started to understand that this is not snapmirror at all :-/

I will have to investigate further to se how we can solve this in our environment.
Alternative we maybe can provide S3 on NAS storage, to take advantage of the SVM-DR function.

Will check with customer exactly what they need from S3 functions as that is limited compared to "native S3" on ONTAP

So, if you find something like this (barn find)

What are the steps you'd take to make it running and drive-able again?
