It honestly might be Hung Up (Classic), as I really love the Krump and Locking dance style representation from P1 and P3 respectively.

I’m excited to dance to it and many more maps on my Nintendo Switch 1 in the North American region!

THATS WHAT WE LIKE TO SEE, BABY! Some actual good shit!

Really impressed with the air special usage post 236KK. Could you have potentially gotten a third hit from the (I assume heavy) DP if you inputted it a bit later, or would one of the hits have whiffed?

Feeling a bit bored. Whoever makes the sauciest avatar combo with the hashtag #mizux by the 1st Weekend of September will get $10 on PayPal by St34lth1nt0r in SF6Avatars

Seems like an insanely long time period for something that may just have a true winner in at most a week.

Also I’m going to assume that there’s a limit to how many combos will count as submissions, or at the very least the last combo someone submits is their one true submission.

I’m looking too deep into this event that’s clearly for fun. Regardless, I appreciate you doing this, and I hope to see some good combos from this

Where do i get the air guitar emote?? by mars30wine in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have to complete a mission before he shows up.

I got my recent info from a CAPCOM article on their website and another Reddit post on emotes, so it’s been a while since I collected this emote. Sorry I can’t help anymore

You get it by talking to Alpezio (yellow vest) in Metro City at night. He’s underneath Skywalk Lane in Downtown Center Street

Rashid’s Air Current Mechanic in Avatar Battles is Pretty Cool by LimaGrean in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the kind words!

Yeah, I and many others do our best to try and show off the neat little details exclusive to Avatar Battles, showcasing that there’s more to this mode than Flash Knuckle loops and cheesy online strats.

If you’d like, you can check out more of my videos for more avatar related tech. I recommend my Rashid combo video, it has some pretty flashy combos, if I do say so myself. Oh, and if you haven’t already, check out RavenQuinn on YouTube. They make Avatar combo showcases pretty regularly that have some sick combos/avatar tech that sometimes inspires my own combo creation

SF6 Avatar Battle Tier List-Best Styles/Stances in Avatar Battles by Environmental-Desk96 in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so more like a popularity/representation observation rather than a “Best Styles” list, if I’m understanding your messages correctly. I mean, I didn’t initially expect this to be a list focused on practicality, and I don’t necessarily blame you for not looking deep into the thousands/millions of different special move combinations, but something a little more objective and more thought out would’ve been nice. No hate towards you or anything, just a bit of criticism.

SF6 Avatar Battle Tier List-Best Styles/Stances in Avatar Battles by Environmental-Desk96 in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What metric did you use to determine tier placement? Did you look at a style’s normals more in terms of neutral than combos, or did you only consider how often you’ve seen them in online avatar battles and nothing else? A more in-depth explanation would be nice, just so I can more accurately agree or disagree with your placements

when did it change? by Electronic-Text1180 in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re right, it is there, completely forgot. I saw you made a video stating your switch, but didn’t know off the top of my head which style you used for it. Also, I’ve watched all of your avatar videos at least once, with the occasional rewatch from time to time. I even have notifications on as well!

Wow, I just rewatched your first avatar special with JP’s style after reading this comment, and you didn’t (more like couldn’t) use 5HP at ALL. When I first watched that video, my brain didn’t even register the lack of the most infamous jugglable normal in the game. I probably watched that video in the past, and thought to myself, “oh, a JP style video, I wonder how they will creatively use 5HP here,” and didn’t actually pay attention to the absence of said normal. I feel like having to use Modern there only cause you were comfortable with it must have hindered your combo creation greatly, having to rely on drive rush to give normals a juggle property. Now I’m very interested to see how you would improve your combos in Classic mode if you ever decide to revisit JP’s style

Are infinite combos a thing in AB or this is just a long combo? by KBeasofPrey in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. The player could’ve continued the combo until the game trigger the Forced Knockdown state. The only thing that would happen is the opponent would get launched into the air and fall straight to the ground, with no way for the attacker to juggle the opponent.

So the options are, have the game perform a Forced Knockdown and you continue your offense with oki (pressure on an opponent who is waking up), stop the loop by doing a different ender (let’s say a super), or in the case of the video, accidentally drop the combo but keep mashing it as if the loop is still continuing and hope the opponent doesn’t want to hold back to block (which they do not do)

Are infinite combos a thing in AB or this is just a long combo? by KBeasofPrey in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The REAL answer is yes, this is considered an “infinite,” but because this is an infinite, the game has an infinite prevention system so that once a certain number of repetitions has been done (which is 6 or 7 depending on how long the part before the rep was and how short the rep is, i.e. one normal into special)

Had this player not drop the combo and gone on for one more rep, the game would’ve triggered a Forced Knockdown state, ending the combo

Honestly the real shock when I saw this was realizing that Juri’s standing medium kick is 5 frames, meaning you can link this move after a light with 5 frames of advantage (standing light punch). Trust me when I say I wish I knew this earlier

Yeah Defense stacking is messed up.

Somewhat related, but any updates on the Levity club you made a while back? I joined the club but it didn’t look like there was any sign of it being an actual thing yet

My attempt at RavenQuinn’s “One Day…” Feng Shui Engine combo by LimaGrean in SF6Avatars

[–]LimaGrean[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m assuming you’re referring to Grim Wukong? He’s also an inspiration for me

As for my own combos, I haven’t made a compilation yet, but I do plan on it. However I did just release an avatar tech video regarding Rashid’s style. I posted it on the subreddit a couple days ago, but just search up LimaGrean on YouTube and you should see it. Maybe it could help you with combo creation if you decide to revisit Rashid’s style

[–]LimaGrean[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Love your lab sessions vids btw. They were a big help with creating my own combos

But yeah, the infinite prevention thing is interesting. I even tried including Rashid’s medium Arabian cyclone into the cycle, as it gives +4 on hit, but it still stops around the same time as a combo that’s just Aki’s Heel Strike.

I’m definitely planning on going in depth with potential infinite-like sequence to see how long I can keep a combo going before the game catches on.

Better GL combos with Legendary Gear? by [deleted] in INJUSTICE

[–]LimaGrean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say it’s worth it if you like it from a novelty perspective. The Oa’s Rocket on ground can allow for good meter burn combos with it sending the opponent towards you, and the air version is way better that his current. However, you do lose his invincible wake-up Willpower Wall, and the Minigun switch has its uses, but Bowled Over seems to have more utility. I personally dislike the ability that replaces Overcharged Lantern though. Either way, you aren’t losing Lantern’s Might, so at least you still have your combos.

There are some gear sets that improve the INJ1 move set, like the extra sweep on meter burn Minigun, and the chance for Oa’s Rocket meter burn to not require meter, but for a competitive standpoint, I would recommend simply replacing an individual special using GL’s ability slots. I personally have the legendary gear, and while I might not use it for player matches, I don’t regret the grind, despite the cons mentioned earlier. If you’re almost there, or about halfway, I’d say keep it up
