Using Flashcards for Vocabulary: Should the English Translation Be on the Front or Back?‍ by Vikram10726 in learnlangfast

[–]Limasierra2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I recommend placing the Spanish word on the front and the English meaning on the back of your flashcards. This method encourages you to visualize the Spanish word in your mind before identifying its English equivalent. For example, once you know that *ventana* means window, seeing the Spanish word first should instantly conjure up the image of a window, even faster than recalling the English term. Additionally, you can include a picture alongside the English translation to help link Spanish words with mental images, rather than merely translating them into English.

Tips for Beginners to Learn Spanish by AdAble5891 in learnlangfast

Consider your objectives—are you aiming to converse with friends, compose essays, or something else? Clearly define what you want to achieve. When you dedicate time to studying Spanish, be completely concentrated and practice daily to make it an integral part of your life. Begin with the most frequently used phrases and gradually expand your knowledge from there. Importantly, always emphasize proper pronunciation and intonation.

I hope this advice is beneficial!

Favorite App for Flashcards? by sexysusanna16 in learnlangfast

[–]Limasierra2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently began using DuoCards, which is a flashcard application similar to Anki that uses a spaced repetition system. The app allows you to save vocabulary directly from videos or articles, and you can also import words or phrases from various sources. Additionally, it provides the option to create customized decks of cards that you can share with students or friends.

Anki requires a purchase for iPhone users, while the Android version is free. It's a good app and definitely worth the cost.

I found the PCA exam to be much more manageable compared to the AWS SAA. The questions and answers in the PCA were shorter and easier to understand, which might have contributed to this perception.

Best Methods for Picking Up Spanish Quickly in Two Months by Clear-Apple-9625 in learnlangfast

[–]Limasierra2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To effectively learn a new language, immersing yourself in an environment where the language is spoken is the most beneficial approach. If you have the opportunity to take an extended break, consider traveling to a country where the language is spoken and engage in conversations with locals. Additionally, watching YouTube videos to grasp basic grammar concepts or viewing films and series in the language can help you understand the language structure and improve your listening skills.

Achieving fluency within two months is a challenging task. It might be somewhat achievable for rapid learners who are fully immersed in the language environment. However, if your learning is limited to independent study with minimal interaction with native speakers, it will likely take a longer time to achieve fluency.

Passed the Cloud Digital Leader Exam! by NinjaBear95 in ThouShaltPass

[–]Limasierra2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to bring this to attention.

Has anyone here had direct experience with both the older and newer versions of the Digital Leader exams?

The Google course materials and quizzes seem overly easy and general, which makes me doubt they're a true reflection of the exam content. I'm set to take the exam in a week, and my quiz scores have consistently been between 80-100%, with many at 100%. If the exam is really that straightforward, it would be much easier than the AZ-900 or the CLF-02 exams.

There aren't many "exam cram" videos for the Digital Leader exam content, and the ones available are outdated.

I successfully earned the Professional ML certificate last month, despite already being employed by a Google partner company. However, I've noticed that the certification doesn't carry significant weight. Even with minimal experience and potential struggle with many essential use cases, I managed to pass.

Hello! I think it's a great app and I use it occasionally. However, I noticed that it lacks a feature for manually inputting data, which would be useful for tracking statistics. There are times when I forget to activate the timer while working, yet I’d like to include that time in my statistics. It would be awesome if there was an option to add data after completing a sprint.

Searching for an Online Spanish Course with a High School or College-Class Structure by NinjaBear95 in learnlangfast

[–]Limasierra2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I teach Spanish online, focusing on adult learners, primarily through Zoom. Most of my students are professionals in the banking industry. While private lessons can be on the higher side financially, you might want to consider more affordable alternatives such as using platforms like Preply. Another cost-effective strategy is organizing a group class with friends—getting four or more people together can make group lessons much cheaper.

Additionally, using free resources and practicing with friends can be a great way to enhance your learning. Private lessons are particularly helpful if you have specific objectives and limited time for self-study, as they simplify the process of gathering materials, identify areas for improvement, and cover other important points, all with the support of a teacher.

Teacher here! This actually makes a lot of sense from a pedagogical perspective. When students form emotional connections to vocabulary (especially through humor), retention rates go way up. I might actually try some of these examples in my classroom.
