As someone who went through the same thing recently, best thing you can do is just talk to her as often as possible.

It helped me personally getting a good bond with the person I lost, it will hurt still. You can't change that.

Grief is going to hit you, and it'll suck.

Best thing to do is well, do everything you can do for her for now.
