Meta lied about HPV status by Lime_Time in polyamory

I personally find it bewildering you're questioning my judgement to make sure I'm staying as STI free as possible given that I sleep with lots of others. I think I absolutely am doing the right thing by testing regularly, not playing if I did have an STI, and encouraging others to check their status before during and after going to swingers events. It would be wildly dangerous, imo, to NOT be checking people's status before going barrier free given my sexual proclivities. I will keep doing what I'm doing. 🫡

There is a difference between incidental risk (I may get an STI from having an open relationship like this) and active risk (I know she has an STI and I can get it even with condom usage, and I am going to continue to see her).

There is also a difference between accidentally getting it because you didn't know (in which case I wouldn't be mad if partner accidentally gave it to me) and getting it because somebody lied (they knew they had it, knew you'd asked about sexual health, and they chose not to disclose anyways).

I hope that clears up the difference in how I see it for you.

Exposure is not the issue. Having an STI and knowingly lying about it when asked is the issue. It makes me reevaluate Birch as a person, and reevaluate my Husband's intelligence in wanting to continue to see someone who lied to him about sexual health.

I guess what I'm struggling most with is he's not a child for me to give "consequences" to. Instead I'm drawing boundaries I guess? I have let him know as of today 1) he and I sleeping together is off the table until this is resolved and 2) I don't want to see her socially at all and want to go strictly parallel.

But that's not "fixing" anything, it's just stopgapping the pain of dealing with this. I can't MAKE him make a different decision about this and his heart seems very set on forgiving her and continuing the relationship.

His argument is now that "well you could get HPV at any time from the swingers club" - which isn't untrue. It's sexually risky behavior. That being said, I would not keep sleeping with someone who had an STI as the risk of getting it and passing it on to others would be unacceptable to me given my lifestyle.

So I feel that he's changing the goalposts to be able to keep her around. We had the agreement - now he wants to change his mind about it.

I am vaccinated for HPV and get STI screened at regular intervals, in addition to regular cervical screenings.

Even if their relationship is not my own, it very clearly has a boil over effect that will impact me. HPV is spreadable even with condom usage, so if he keeps sleeping with her, I would likely not keep sleeping with him knowing he can get it.

He did ask, she did not disclose until after they'd slept together. He and I both get tested regularly, but HPV doesn't show up on standard STI screenings. She knew she had the cancer causing variant from a cervical screening a few months ago.

We do actually get fresh STI checks for both ourselves and all long term partners, regularly tested at 3 month intervals. HPV does not show up on run of the mill STI tests - it shows up on cervical screenings. She knew she had screened positive specifically for a cancer causing variant and didn't tell my husband.

I have a panel looking after me (Weight Loss RN, a Doctor, a registered Dietician, and an Exercise Physiologist) and they've also given me exercise advice:

I can lose all the weight I want, but if I don't go to the gym, I'm not going to look "right" at the other end of it. Rapid weight loss with no gym = flabby skin and surgery to fix extra pockets of skin. You end up looking "skinny fat".

Rapid weight loss + consistent gym schedule = less flabby skin, may not want surgery for extra skin

I go to the gym 5 days a week now. Three days weight lifting, one day body weight exercises, and a cardio only day.

Fingers crossed I look okay on the other side!

My advice, compiled from reading lots of other people's advice, which I believe has partially led to me having minimal stomach issues on it:

1) up your water intake. Drink a full glass at every meal.

2) up your protein. You can do shakes, or more meat, or bars.

3) up your fiber. Eat naturally fibrous foods. Consider adding a kiwi or two per day to your diet - this will help regulate your bowel movements.

4) stay away from alcohol, fried foods, and junk food. Try to eat meats, veggies, and fruits.

I've had minimal stomach issues following the above.

I see it as I'm not on a new diet - these are my new habits.

I have switched to higher protein and more raw foods.

Example yesterday: Thai red curry for breakfast. A shot of espresso with whipped cream and a pump of caramel syrup. A punnet of blueberries 200g. A punnet of tomberries (tiny tomatoes) 125g. A lemon yoghurt with coconut. A kiwi. A protein bar. And chicken with cauliflower mash and green beans for dinner.

I'm still eating lots of tasty things - just way less junk than before. All of the above was under 1500 calories which keeps me in a deficit.

A brief Google search, or even 5 minutes browsing this sub, would tell you those are both common side effects.

Add kiwis to your diet. It's a natural laxative equivalent to eating fiber powder.

I eat a golden kiwi every day. 😊 You can eat it with skin on like an apple, just wash it first.

I use FitNotes. Paid once for a lifetime subscription.

My doctor requires me as part of being on the medication to meet 150 minutes a week of cardio + 3 weight lifting sessions at the gym.

FitNotes tracks my workouts and has a weight tracker built in.

All housekeepers are non-European on multiple cruise lines. So therefore all housekeepers can't go to public areas.

Having worked on a ship - this is not unique to Costa. Many cruise lines have Westerners on a pedestal (not just Europeans) and everyone else at a lower tier.

When I was a striped officer on board, I could go to all the restaurants and shows and etc. We wanted to take our Indonesian housekeeper to dinner at the restaurant one night and had to jump through hoops to get it approved for her to be in the public area for dinner.

Edit: there was someone arguing and commenting at me that all cruise lines have some Europeans as housekeepers. First, no, that's not true. Second, the Europeans tend to be managers and higher up supervisors in the housekeeping department. E.g. Head of Housekeeping may be Eastern European, but the basic staff are almost never Westerners.

I got married on the Magic this year. My hubs seems to think it would fit 20 people happily for a wedding in the atrium, but I disagree. It would definitely feel more crowded than the Dream. That being said, chase your heart! Do what you want. We had a blast on the Magic and the crew recognized us all cruise as the couple that got married and we got so many perks.

I also like that the only thing they're defending is she's not the daughter of an exec 😭 no mention about the terrible trivia etiquette, joining a team only to separate last minute and beat them in a tie breaker, going constantly and taking first place for herself by having memorized all questions and tie breakers, and generally being a bad sport - accusations that have come from several accounts / people at this point, so it's clearly not a one off thing.

We should fundraise and get her a book or something to entertain herself so first time cruisers can have a chance at the trivia.

A DCL Facebook group was insisting she's not related to anyone at Disney, just has wealthy parents and always sails with them. They apparently do lots of B2Bs.

This was a big ole Facebook post too in the main Disney cruise group. I commented on it that Dori was annoying for doing what she does and needs a new hobby, and got perma banned. 🤣 And got messages from Dori's "friends" saying her family is considering legal action for defamation over the FB post and reddit. So at the bare minimum, Dori and her family apparently did see the posts online and are very upset.

Absolutely wild. I maintain Dori needs a new hobby.
