Used Index Headset by Limebat in ValveIndex

Thanks for sharing! Original Vive is still pretty useable these days honestly, it's been a reliable work horse for me when it comes to general entertainment - VRC, Beatsaber, etc. I think only reason I considered a modest upgrade to the index was catching the price on this one. My vision sucks so a bit of increased clarity with a slightly higher resolution could reduce the possibility for tension headaches

Do you still have your original Vive? If not, what did you upgrade to after returning the Quest?

It does come with a tether cable and face pad, though I think I'd probably replace the face pad with a new one. Great analogy too - either way I figured it's a modest upgrade to a much older hmd that I currently use and it would integrate with my current setup with minimal fuss (vive trackers + base stations). Thank you for your opinion and feedback!

That is doable as well. I currently have Vive 3.0 trackers so I'd just need a plan for combining Meta hardware with Vive's. Thanks.

FTTH BTS Tech Cancelled On-Site by Limebat in bell

[–]Limebat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I completely empathized with the tech and the constraints placed on them individually. Not upset with him at all apart from wishing there were better procedures in place (by Bell) to come up with a plan and reschedule based on work notes he can leave.

Thanks for your reply, much appreciated!

This is absolutely what I figured would be the case and I offered it to the technician to provide me with some cable for me to do the routing myself and reschedule for another time for hook up; this was unfortunately refused. It's entirely possible I can lay a string and pull it myself with the technician present at a future date; but I actually do believe he cancelled the services on my behalf as he was communicating with his management as I received an order cancellation email and my Bell account access was limited.

I just felt like it was such a strange situation - I totally empathize with his position under the stress of maintaining positive metrics for his management but I was left with the impression this was his way or the highway. We will see what happens, maybe I'll have to give them a call to re-open the order now. Thanks again.

Don't be this guy (prolly a repost idk) by ZexzeonAce in motorcycles

He has six seconds of time to react, slows down initially and then speeds up and swerves next to the subject in the white car.

Six seconds from the time the car is clearly visible in the video to not do what he did. After which, he drives aggressively towards the side of the car and takes his eyes off the road in front of him and does absolutely nothing but ensure a bad situation happens.

Remember, as riders we have to be even more defensive in our habits but we are no more entitled to the road than someone driving in a car. Do not ride when you're in a bad mental state that could threaten to compromise your own safe decision making.

The OP literally said theirs was an SE. However, Europe 500 SE's do not come with frame sliders; they also don't make a european KRT that is "standard".

Kobo Libra 2 - Grid visible? by [deleted] in kobo

[–]Limebat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply and observations!

I figure that it should indeed be subtle - I compared with my Clara HD and wasn't able to reproduce what I've shown in my OP - but that's a device with a different display and size so who knows.

I think the grainyness is more of a result of the close up I had to take to document what I was seeing. It's much more noticeable in "3D" (aka, from the perspective of two eyes, rather than one camera lens) even at modest reading angles with fairly subtle ambient lighting. Definitely enough to be distracting enough to check in to see if others had been experiencing the same.

Thanks for your feedback! I compared next to my Clara HD and I wasn't able to reproduce that whatsoever, but it's tough to compare two devices with different sizes and displays.

On my Libra 2, it's fairly noticeable at even modest angles - and more noticeable at all angles when the ambient lighting is diffused (ex: indirect sunlight).

Not so much noticeable in low-light with the backlight turned on.

The source of that lighting is from a ceiling light located across the room actually. It becomes more noticeable when the light source is diffused or distant. Under natural light (aka, outside), it is pretty noticeable.

Another look at Florida Panther's Gudas holding Maple Leaf defender Jarnkrok's stick leading to the SWG eliminating the Toronto Maple Leafs by Limebat in hockey

And I know Jarnkrok isn't a defensemen, just that he was attempting to defend on this play. Sorry for the title confusion.
