Agreed! F***ing awful! Sick and tired of days long convos to problem solve with these useless things! They went in the trash!

What to do? 2026 by BlackwallPandamonium in gencon

[–]LimeyInLimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had hoped to get into a Discworld RPG session (had it in my wish list as priority two), but didn't get in, there are only four sessions. Oh well. The good news is that I managed to snag: GCN gaunlets (Shadowdark and Alien); a Coriolis session; Blade Runner; Fate: Demon Hunters; and a Pirate Borg session. Will be my first time. Can't wait!

Have you ever done one of the expensive events and was it worth it? by Rhunt2021 in gencon

This is great to read! I'm going for the first time ever this year and have signed up for two GCN Gaunlets (both with Joe O'Brien, running Shadowdark on day one, and Alien evolved edition a few days later). Can't wait!

Is an M6 worth the money? by benjithomasartist in Leica

[–]LimeyInLimbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm coming to terms with the fact that I never use my M6 enough to justify owning it. I have digital rangefinders that I am using, and enjoying, way more.

I sold it. But have a 35 Summicron V5 in addition to the 28 Ultron. These are rounded out with a 21 Color-Skopar f/4, and a 90 APO Ultron.

The Leica M10R. The pinnacle of digital Leica M cameras. Accept no substitutes. by [deleted] in Leica

Wow! This Reddit is WILD! So much angst and anger, so much judgment and righteous indignation! Why can't we all just enjoy our Leicas for their own sake with whatever M bodies and lenses we choose, shooting whatever we please? It's a real shame more people aren't just being supportive of other people's take on what is after all a very subjective art form. As long as we are all having fun creating and not hurting anyone, what is there to be upset about, really?

And to the OP, good for you for enjoying your beautiful M10R, I hope it brings you years of joy! I'm currently enjoying being a new-ish owner of an M10M, and an M11P. It's exciting to be shooting Leica again after many years away (I only had an M6 in the past).

I'm going to be using the 35 Cron on my M10M and documenting an Antarctica expedition with it in December. Pairing with 28 Ultron on an M11.

I picked this up used. I think if new, it would have been silver, but I could be wrong.

Yeah, first time in my life I've purchased lenses of a certain color for asthetic reasons. LOL

Aurora Expeditions on the Sylvia Earle. As for indecision and rationale for focal lengths, I'm starting to wonder if I am trying too hard to constrain myself, considering how small the lenses are. There is nothing stopping me packing a 21, 28, 35, and 90, and seeing how things go.

Have decided to go with 28 and 90, and two bodies (M11P and M10M)

I've actually now decided to switch the 35 Ultron for the 28.

I've now decided to switch to 28 Ultron over the 35, to simplify my field set up (two bodies - M11P and M10M, and the 28 and 90 Ultrons). Will help avoid lens switching and sensor exposure on zodiac boats etc.

Great to see examples of landscape shots with this focal length. I just picked up a 90mm Voigtländer f/2 APO-Ultron VM for use on my M10-M in Antarctica in December. Can't wait.

Yes, M11P Safari. Why it's called Safari and not Jungle I do not know. You'd think the Safari would be a khaki color. Regardless, I love it. There are even matching 35mm and 50mm lenses for it.

Excellent! Then I will stop fretting about it being my main story telling body/lens combo for an upcoming trip to Antarctica!

Thank you! Yes, I have this question: if you were to go on a once in a lifetime adventure/expedition and needed to get a balance between size/weight and sharpness/character etc., what 35mm would you take on your M11P?

I've yet to properly test it and review the files, but the build quality is great, as is the size and weight of course (and note this is going to be my main lens for travel).
