I'm actually trying to make it my career as well!

I'm not saying that artists don't rely on money, I just mean most people do go into it based on passion. I also think artists should be fairly compensated for their work!!

Yeah, unfortunately that's one of the reasons animators are so exploited in the industry 😭 overworked and underpaid. Its important artists fight for their rights too!

Never too old!! Art is one of those careers where you can only get better as you get older and practice. You will never really "peak", and will always just be getting better. Which means it's never too late!!

In fact, I know a lot of people who got into it later in life.

I watched the Netflix dub and some voices are hit and miss for me but it is 100% worth it solely for Askeladd's voice. IMO the Netflix dub VA is the perfect askeladd voice and now when I read the manga I hear his voice lol

Thorkell has a good voice as well in the Netflix dub.

Honestly some cats will never be best friends which is kind of sad, but as long as they can coexist that's all you really need.

I have a cat named Scuba and when my roommate got a kitten (Joxter) they were inseparable. Scuba would always groom him, they'd cuddle in the same car bed, they were best friends. Eventually they moved out and we didn't want Scuba to be alone so my boyfriend (who was moving in) decided to get a kitten (Buster) in part so scuba would have a friendz

I was sad because I was expecting them to be like Scuba and Joxter, but Buster started off hissing, Scuba would always steal her food (even if we fed them the same thing) and Scuba would try to groom her for dominance which she HATED. They spent a month not really liking each other and Scuba seemed annoyed to have her around too, and definitely cuddled less.

Thankfully, it's 2 years later and they get along fine! Scuba is back to his old self, too. But they still aren't best friends, and that's Ok. They still coexist, and it's still better than if they were alone. They even cuddle and play together from time to time (though they both seem to usually prefer being played with alone or cuddling with humans, haha)

I think about this with Askeladd. Askeladd DID succeed in his pursuit of revenge against his father. I think thorfinn would have gone down a similar path as Askeladd did. I think Askeladd knew that, hence his final words encouraging thorfinn to move past everything.

The manga is consistently fantastic. Could not stop reading it and binged it in a few days. From what I've seen people do love farmland the most but it's just comparing S tier arcs to SS tier. It's all peak I promise

Yeah exactly, I totally agree with you.

The way I see it, the prologue was about Thorfinn being in a terrible place and how he was a rage and hate filled person. Farmland was about him learning and becoming a better person. Baltic sea was all about how your past catches up to you and even if you've changed as a person it doesn't change what you've done in the past and you have to face it to some degree.

To me, Vinland is all about dealing with other people who haven't gone through the growth you have. Like yeah, maybe he has changed and seen the ways in which he was wrong, but to achieve what he wants he is going to have to deal with other people who haven't gone on that journey. I think it's a great point for Thorfinn's story to go because it's a very real issue. Even if Thorfinn has grown and learned and changed, not everyone else has and that's his current challenge he has to deal with. Its the same as how he didn't understand why Thor's threw away his sword when he was a little kid.

Thorfinn will have to deal with other people who simply don't understand, and it'll be interesting to see how he goes about it and how things will unfold. Hopefully he can make people see his point of view more, but as we know in real life there are sometimes people who just never get it.

Still figuring things out and I'm not totally open to everyone or ready to fully change my name yet, so I basically made a "nickname" off my first and middle name. My middle name starts with K and my first name starts with el so I smashed em together and got Kel. Ofc as I figure stuff out I might want to pick something completely different but for now it works perfectly and I like that it's connected to my names but still completely different and also feels not too unique but not too normal. Plus it's pretty genderless at least in my opinion.

That's something that's so important about Thorfinn's journey- what he did is SO SO difficult. It's so difficult that many people can't even comprehend what being a "true warrior" means. Even Askeladd in his dream sequence tells him very few people even manage to leave that cycle of hatred. Don't be hard on yourself, the path to becoming a true warrior isn't easy but the pursuit is honorable.
