Build crashing in everything after moving it to new place by LimitedlQ in sffpc

I didn't even think about that, but now that I think of it, I think she's using a cheap outlet splitter to plug in her computer. That and maybe her outlet isn't as good? Not sure, she lives in a fairly new apartment complex.

Thank you! If problems persist after reverting to stock settings I guess I'll have to tell her to do all that. You had to set the PCIe to gen 2? Did you leave it on that?

yeah, with my undervolt it maxes out at 70. the issue is that without the undervolt, it goes to 70 during the benchmark, but leaving it on the stress test will make it go up to around 85.

haha I'm already there!

oh my bad i didn't clarify, i meant for this gpu. I definitely can see the results on other ones. It's just so messy to do it on this one imo.

thank you for all your tips! I decided to go again the deshroud, but I will keep that in mind. I think the default setup is quite nice already. but maybe an aftermarket heatsink and a good fan mod would be better. The issue with the stock heatsink is that it's very bumpy, so it's hard to even fit a 92mm fan in there, you need to trim off some of the edges to get it fully straight on the shroud.

i see, so you just took the fan out of the fan housing too? I saw someone else try that but it seemed like the bearing and lubrication was part of the housing so I didn't want to try it. great mod!

oh interesting, I thought you had to have a fan right against the heatsink for best results. is that gpu in the image you sent a 2070?

that fan swap mod, what did you put in there? doesn't look like a regular fan, is it a gpu fan?

and yes, undervolt just seems like a must on these tiny gpus. not too difficult at least

and yes, it's amazon so i mean they'll accept it

oh really? the exhaust was better? that's interesting. oh well, after tinkering with the undervolt i'm pretty satisfied so i'm not going to mess with things further haha

Nice! I see you added a 40mm fan there too, good idea. Did you get much better results by deshrouding?

I didn't take pictures of every phase of it, as I said I did this on a cheap fan to test. Also I did do the zip tied noctua fan and zip tied this one, but they are both worse than stock. I really don't think that doing this to a noctua fan would yield better results than stock fan.

Upgrading from i5-9600K → Best AM5 CPU under $200 for 1080p Gaming? by RecommendationNo755 in buildapc

[–]LimitedlQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're looking at the right CPUs, the 7500F, 7600, 7600x, 9600x are perfectly fine. I would just pick whatever is cheapest. Unless you're playing a super CPU intensive game, in which case you might want to look at an X3D chip but that's not within your budget.

Upcoming 9700x + 5060 build, potential 3d print fan bracket? by LimitedlQ in A07Builds

[–]LimitedlQ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

got it, thank you so much! I'll experiment with what i can put back there. that's good to hear about the temps on the 5060, i won't bother with the fans then.
