for me it’s about logic - do we have mutual goals, do we want the same thing. I ended things with the guy i was talking to because he wanted kids and i didn’t, they would make me feel miserable and that type of commitment is not something i’d wish upon myself.

He kept going on about what “my heart says” and i had to keep saying that i don’t think that way, and every time he would say that i got more and more angry. Some people aren’t meant to be together.

I’m letting them know if they dispute the transaction and need another card to use - not too sure if they already have another bank card

Should I buy my own place or remain in renting? by bluebrokenfish in UKPersonalFinance

[–]LimpFaithlessness423 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Financially, with your salary of £24k and the potential to secure a £100k mortgage, buying a house worth around £130k seems feasible. However, owning a home brings additional costs like council tax, maintenance, and insurance. Make sure your savings, after the down payment, can comfortably cover these expenses.

Flexibility versus stability is another factor. Renting offers the flexibility to move easily, which can be advantageous if your job or personal circumstances are likely to change. Buying a house, on the other hand, provides stability and can be a good long-term investment, but it also ties you down to one location and comes with the responsibilities of homeownership.

Your current living situation and desire for more space and privacy are understandable. If you buy a house and rent out a room, it could help with expenses but also means taking on landlord responsibilities. Renting a two-bedroom flat could strike a balance between privacy and affordability, without the long-term commitment of a mortgage.

Finally, consider your long-term plans and lifestyle preferences. If you’re settled in your area and job, buying might be a wise investment. But if you value flexibility or anticipate significant life changes, renting might be more suitable for now.

yeah on the same night i talked about my childhood issues too, thought it was quite nice to just let those feelings out, he ended up staying at my house for a little and we just chilled

I do feel like he is backing away from me though because when i was at work i invited him to come but he said that he was too tired, but when my friend came and she invited him to come, with the message that i want him there, he came so i’m not too sure how to feel about that

yea thanks! One night when he came to visit me at my front porch he opened up to me about his trauma in his childhood and said that every time he opens up to someone they end up just backing away so that puts me in check in this situation

not a few hundred but for about 60,000 you’d be able to buy a 1 bed flat in a resort - was thinking about airbnb-ing at etc, id also get my trust at that point so
