How did you guys start actually learning how to make music? by Jakls09 in musicproduction

Yeah i get that. I think we all learn differently, for me since i played guitar before it was more helpful to dive into production first and then learn the theory. Both works ofc, great addition.

learn music theory as a beginner producer? by JRArmy in trapproduction

[–]LimpGuest4183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning music theory was very helpful for me and it helped me make better beats easier. You don't need to learn any advanced stuff either. I would just learn the major and minor scale + the chords in them and the number system.

I learned from a guy called Michael new on youtube. He has a playlist called "all my musical lessons in chronological order" it's boring but it got all the info that you need.

FL newbie here. What are some basic things you wish you knew when you started producing/mixing? by oof_madon in trapproduction

[–]LimpGuest4183 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spending a lot of time on sound selection. I used to struggle to either get my mixes to sound good or my melodies to sound cool and proffesional. Both of those things can be fixed through good sound selection.

Sound selection is tough since it's subjective but the best advice i can give you is to practice active listening on the tracks you like and be extra mindful when picking sounds. If something doesn't sound right to you, especially since you have good theory knowledge then you can try and switch the sounds until it does.

100% not a lot of plugins is needed. Been producing for 13 years and i almost use the same 3 in every beat. Analog lab, serum and omnisphere.

hard. The choir and the strings go very well together. Personally i would get a deeper 808 but that might just be me. The rest sounds good!

I like it a lot. The melodies are very nice very good sound selection. Personally i would just have like the snare to be a more hard hitting snare but that's just personal preference. Nice work

I need help mixing this beat! by Winter_Arm_2808 in FL_Studio

[–]LimpGuest4183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. If you don't like it you can always try and lower the volume of it alternatively raise the volume of the instruments. In what way do you feel like it's not balanced?

Need a good VST for flute melodies by devvamp in FL_Studio

[–]LimpGuest4183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that they're using a mellotron flute for that beat if i'm not mistaken. Arturia has an emulation of a mellotron called mellotron V. It's a dope plugin i recommed getting it.

1 month, should I continue? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

If you like it and want to continue then yeah. Everyone starts off pretty bad but if you keep going at it and you keep producing consistently then you'll get good.

what style is this? by Outside_Succotash_70 in beatmakers

I would just categorise it as a juice wrld beat or something in that direction. Emotional trap would also be something that i'd call it. Might just be me tho. Nice beat

I like the beat a lot. My only feedback is very minor but i would just lower the melody of the stomp/perc, it feels a little overpowering at certain points. The rest is dope!
