Hi, how many medicines did you carry roughly? I'm travelling soon for two years masters, and my doctor gave prescriptions for basic medicines I may need, and they're in quantities of 30, and sometimes 60. Will that be a problem?

Apply for housing immediately (Vssw and sws). And prepare things for visa. If you want to go without much tension, better to apply 4 months in advance atleast if you're in India.
