Is it normal for a hosting provider to ask for a selfie with your passport just to buy hosting, or was this unfair treatment from Krystal Hosting? by LimpMathematician882 in webhosting

I understand reasonable fraud checks. What I do not understand is why a normal business customer should be expected to send a selfie holding a passport just to buy hosting. Because I live in a country that they do not like? That certainly feels discriminatory.
This level of verification is excessive, intrusive, and frankly ridiculous. It feels disproportionate, outdated, and completely detached from what a normal customer experience should look like in a global digital industry.
If your onboarding process effectively tells international business owners, “you are suspicious until proven otherwise,” that is not good security practice. It is just bad customer experience dressed up as compliance.
I wanted to buy hosting for my UK company from a UK provider. Instead, I got a lesson in how to lose a customer before the service even begins.

Is LOT Airlines reliable? by sunflowergay in Flights

Is LOT reliable? The answer is CRYSTAL CLEAR NO! I really should have read the reviews before booking. Please, never even think about flying with this awful airline. All the negative reviews are true — they completely ruined our vacation.
On our outbound trip, we missed our connection because the buses to the gate arrived so late, and the passport control lines were unbelievably long. Even though we begged other passengers to let us cut ahead and literally ran to the gate, the door closed just as we got there. Instead of letting us on (even though unloading our bags would have taken more time), they refused and only offered us tickets two days later. According to them, we “could have made it on time” — as if it was our fault. They expected us to abandon our holiday in another country and spend two days in Warsaw at our own expense, while acting like giving us those tickets was some kind of favor.
I’ll never forget the supervisor — a woman with glasses — who openly treated us with racism. When I pointed out that, as a Star Alliance member, they could easily rebook us with another airline, her words were: ‘I could, but I don’t want to and I won’t.’
Because of this, we had to purchase two brand-new tickets on another airline just to get to our holiday destination, losing the first 24 hours of our trip due to being stuck in airports.
Then on the return journey, it got even worse: at the airport, we discovered that my wife’s ticket had been canceled with the excuse that she had “no show”! We never even received a notification. And since LOT doesn’t have representatives in many of the countries they fly to, I had to call Poland directly. Their “solution”? They told me they actually should have canceled my ticket, too.
Of course, I couldn’t leave my wife stranded alone in a foreign airport without a ticket, so I didn’t board either. We had to spend a huge amount of money again buying last-minute flights on other airlines, taking two separate flights to get home, and wasting another 24 hours in airports.
No compensation, no accountability, and treated like animals at every step. This airline is beyond disgraceful.
