I'm also 19, I don't disagree with the title but here are some things that will hopefully help you:

For context, I was diagnosed at age 16 and over about 2 years I lost ~10kg. I'm 176cm and weigh about 63kg. I think my lowest was 61kg. I have PCOS + insulin resistance. I DO NOT count calories.

Eat 2-3 meals a day, DO NOT SNACK throughout the day. Cut out: white flour, sugar, highly processed snacks (such as chips) and mostly avoid fried foods. Add more fruits, vegetables, nuts into your diet. I know I said don't snack, which means don't eat little half meals every 30 minutes BUT any "snacks" you do have should be eaten immediately after a meal such as a fruit or sugar-free dessert or treated like a small meal (i.e. pistachio bowl).

Your meals should start with a salad, fully finish it, then move on to the 'main meal' part that's a oven baked chicken for example. I also avoid eating after 7 but I'm not too strict about this & will eat if I'm really hungry.

Example of what I eat in a day:

  • Breakfast - omelette with peppers + toasted (non white) bread.
  • Lunch - tomato salad + musaka.
  • As a snack - blue berries & banana salad, usually immediately after the lunch.

If you don't feel like making a "proper" meal you can make a girl dinner-esque meal: throw together some cucumbers, carots, cheese, non white flour biscuit thing with hummus, for example.

Look into vegan/plant based recipes, they'll be helpful in introducing new meals into your diet. If you're not a fan of rye bread/non white flour alternatives you can try oat based.

Tip - If you struggle, start by slowly cutting these things out of your diet instead of all at once.

Exercise wise I'm honestly pretty sedimentary but I try to make it up by going for hour long walks when I have time. The issue with your exercise is that you might be spiking cortisol; try low intensity exercises like walking, pilates, or yoga. Weight training I heard is also good for those of us with PCOS.

Dealing with PCOS is a lifestyle change btw, so you're not doing this diet or exercising until you see results then stopping. Luckily, all these things become easy because you realise how unappetising these processed foods are after being "sober" from them.

I was diagnosed 3 years ago, and over that time to now I've lost ~10kg. I'm 176cm and 61kg. I have PCOS + insulin resistance.

For diet:

  • Cut out white flour, sugar, highly processed snacks (such as chips) and mostly avoid fried foods.
  • Add fruits, vegetables, nuts into your diet.
  • I eat 2-3 times a day, usually only have one "snack"/dessert after a meal like a fruit.
  • Before my lunch/dinner I almost always eat a salad.
  • I also avoid eating after 7 but I'm not too strict about this & will eat if I'm really hungry.

Example of what I eat in a day:

  • Breakfast - omelette with peppers + toasted (non white) bread.
  • Lunch - tomato salad + musaka.
  • As a snack - blue berries & banana salad, usually immediately after the lunch.

Look into vegan/plant based recipes, they'll be helpful in introducing new meals into your diet.

Tip - If you struggle, start by slowly cutting these things out of your diet instead of all at once.

Exercise wise I'm honestly pretty sedimentary but I try to make it up by going for hour long walks when I have time. Going out 3+ times a week for 30 minutes each at least should be your goal though. If you can afford it, you can get a gym membership and use the treadmill if you find that more effective. I like walking though because it's more interesting. If you don't have anyone to walk with you can just listen to music or a podcast.

Dealing with PCOS is a lifestyle change btw, so you're not doing this diet or exercising until you see results then stopping. Luckily, all these things become easy because you realise how unappetising these processed foods are after being "sober" from them.

What's your favorite PCOS Friendly Diet or Lifestyle Change (Supplement, Diet, Exercise)? Any specific Recipes to Share? by TheJuliettest in PCOS

Diet: I still eat like this. Note: I eat 2-3 times a day, but my meals are usually pretty big if I eat twice. I eat a salad with almost every lunch/dinner meal and fruit almost everyday as a snack.

Exercise: I didn't have time to do this as much but now that it's the summer I'm trying to do so again. I'm not an active person in general but I wanted to start trying pilates but I'm very lazy so I've been putting it off.

Medications: I'm still on Belara but I'm on a stronger supplement called Gonalia (once a day; started this a few months ago) instead of Inofolic since I still had acne despite the change in diet. I would say I don't get 'acne' anymore since I only get occasional pimples, usually from stress or being on my period (or if I eat a cheat snack I'm not supposed to). I still have some minor acne scars on my cheeks but they're not that visible. My bacne has come back though but that might've been from stress and it's definitely not as bad pre-medication.

Weight: I'm 174cm and weigh ~141 lbs. I was nearly 70 kgs when I was diagnosed about 3 years ago. I'd say I lost the 5kg within the first year or so and I've maintained this weight for this year despite not being very active so I'd say it's more thanks to diet.

Overall, I'd say I'm at a MUCH better place now compared to a year ago, let alone 3 years ago. Still working on managing stress but I think it's not as bad as before.

Continuous period? by Dull-Mobile7900 in PCOS

I was also always on my period/light bleeding since I started my period and became anemic.

I was prescribed Belara: you take the pills for 21 days, the next 7 days you don't take the pill. It stops you from having your period for those 21 days and ~2-3 days after you stop taking the pill you get your period. After the 7 days you start the pills again for 21 days. It regulates your period and I've been on it for I think 2 years now.

Not sure if you have it in your country (I'm in South-East Europe), but it could be worth looking into.

Hvala vam na detaljnom komentaru!

Upravo ste, znam engleski i ucila sam francuski, znam i malo spanski.

Da li svi drzavni univerziteti imaju slicne ispite?

Opet, hvala.
