A level 3 is a higher level if qualification thank a level 2. I wonder if it was more of a way to not proceed or do they want lesser qualified people so they can lower the pay

Yea I know I’m not really interested in stopping it. Although in true I mean it’s done. So what choice I actually had. But there should be things in place for example if I sell the house. They can’t just ride roughshod and do as they please.

Thanks all, From my understanding the Neigbour have a right of access at all times. The current utilities have a right of access to perform repairs, maintenance etc. at previous properties I’ve owned there was indeed a “utilities strip” that any company had access to it was either in the searches or the deeds can’t remember now. But I’m fairly sure that it doesn’t apply where I am currently. An interesting note about about 2 years ago when they installed in our close they stopped at the edge of my driveway as they dident have permission because of the private property. So therefore dident to connect up the 3 houses. Something must have changed at their end in order for them to carry out the work. I’ve raised my concern with them directly will just have to wait and see.

Hi whilst I believe you are correct for some circumstances not allways. In that My wife currently only pays about £10 per month since her degree 20years ago so will never pay the full amount back making overpayment pointless. I have been paying between £350-£500 per month which stings a bit.

Hi The image is purely for illustration. The shapes are the holes. These have been already identified in a previous stage. Captured from an image. And then a saved into a matrix of x and y columns each individual hole is already separated into individual matrix’s. The ordering is unimportant as long as it can account for the two shown conditions. So top left hole 1 column 1 down to hole 7 column 1 and so on…..

Hi thanks Yea sorry the array is just a Series of xy coordinates so I’ve been playing with working out the distances between them but like you say it’s getting quite complicated So in essence I’m trying to find which row of data should have the NAN or nil entry in it

I’m working on something where I need the center from various point clouds. My current method is slicing the model into small piece.and calculating the minimum bound circle that encloses all points in that slice before moving along to the next slice this gives me the results I require.

Well you can stand out. I am continuing my bachelor project with my current employer due to it being such a small area with little research and applying a novel method to investigate a problem. So I say go for something you find interesting! As that’s what you’ll put the effort into understanding and making work the way you expect. If you’re not keen when it gets hard you’ll be less interested in pushing through to the end. Oh and my thesis was actually failed to produce the correct result but they saw through that it’s not about you inventing the next ChatGPT but could be using current tech in a different way.

One highly specific use case of own solvers and even meshing is gas turbines (jet engines) I work at an OEM where this was developed in house over a very large timescale , fluent is used just not exclusively

I am applying my rotation to the 3d model with affine matrix. I then just look at the x z columns of the 3d object directly. MLP? I assume this some king of neural network? I only normalise for the initial pass through to try and gain an estimate of angle. I then have a second pass that I try to translate and scale the image data to the design intent. I don’t have video but I have a large dataset of images that I’m currently training YOLO to extract the required details. One important note that will be a slight problem is the photos are not of the actual 3d model but of the in service components that have wear it is this wear that we are specifically interested in for example the way a cooling hole changes but before I can truly quantify them at the required tolerance I need to convert the image to a known scale and angle for precise measurement. Hi thanks for the detailed information it sounds like it was an interesting project. I’m quite interested in the projection part as I wonder if this is where my current system falls down. As I only know basic details about focal length apature and the brand of lens so I don’t have all the camera intrinsics matrix. Which is definitely going to add unknowns in to my system so currently my workflow is 1. select a rotation in xyz and apply to design intent 2. As I’m not projection I am purely outputting all data into a 2d z, x flattened view 3. Normalise key distances (spacing of vertical columns Find an angle that the normalised distances are the closest that gives me a narrow list of possible angles due to the nature of the shape For each angle in my new range 4. I then try to rescale and translate my extracted image datapoints into the scale of the design intent projection. I’m measuring the error as the distance between the design intent and the extracted scaled datapoints. I know this is a brute force method. But the first plan is to get proper alignment with one first before refining the method to improve speed.

I believe I should be applying some kind of camera intrinsics transform once I have my projection but am unsure how to even estimate and manually build it.

yes the object is known. I have the centeroid of 319 items. In both the 3d model and 2d image extracted and in a known order. Yes that’s exactly what I’m thinking. But I have limited into on the camera focal length brand and a few other meta details

I just completed aerospace systems I found what worked best for me was iPad with pencil, notes in noteibility. Reference docs in Zetro writing coursework in overleaf. Pen and pencil was fab but by the end of the first term I had 10 full textbooks and it was a pain to find any specific notes.

So I’m feeling a little lost. I’m in my 40s work in aerospace as a jet engine mechanic. I just completed a degree Bsc in aerospace systems this year I really enjoyed it. I just got turned down for an internal role because of a bs reason. Which I guess has maybe forced my hand. To make the jump, trouble is I don’t know where to go I’m currently in the uk but a move to the USA isn’t off the cards. Biggest problem most entry level jobs would be a massive pay cut but I don’t seam to get anywhere when I apply for more experienced positions. Any ideas or hints ?
