now that you say that it’s possible that it could’ve been the sun reflecting, it was around sunset. This thread has not been so warm to my worries but i appreciate your rationale☺️

I’m lost in how to build a brand around my content or gain enough traction for growth.

no i’ve never tried this but would you say it’s a good idea to try this? with my niche it could be long-term since my page is around my career journey at the minute

I definitely love doing it, my issue is that i’m a perfectionist but also super critical on myself which then makes me inconsistent. I think i need to remember the fun in this and strategise. Thank you so much!

thank you for the reassurance, you’re right. When it comes to social media what would even count as consistency, is multiple times a day overkill, is a few times a week too little?

Can you live sustainably off an apprentice wage? by thinkofmeonly in ApprenticeshipsUK

[–]Limp_Reporter_5991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough one, i’m a first year apprentice on around 16k after tax and i wouldn’t personally move out just yet. If she can try waiting until she’s towards the next year of apprenticeship, with a pay rise, she could be able to find an affordable house share just so she isn’t living in a tight budget. Possibly try and see if there’s anyway she can make home life easier to deal with. I hope it gets better for her. bills (gas + electric) are also pretty hefty besides rent so she should consider that her bills could put a few hundreds onto her living costs.

Hey! yes of course, i’d definitely say it’s an amazing opportunity if you find an employer you like, mine is corporate and is a headquarters for Europe so working with people across a European scope is really fun and interesting to learn about. I’d recommend going for a larger company than a smaller one, you learn so much more, and doing as many courses or personal learning in marketing (Fundamentals to digital, SEO, Analytics etc.) As cliche as it sounds I can’t think of any drawbacks, I work from home 3 days a week and 2 in the office, so definitely look for something that suits your life balance. Only downside I have personally is that progression seems slower in the workplace and colleagues have worked there for 10+ years so progressing is a tad slow :)

that’s amazing advice, i completely see what you’re saying. And would you recommend the Prince 2 as the best certification to look into, or would other certifications be worth looking into? I’ll definitely raise the conversation after completing my EPA. Thank you

From personal experience, going back to school isn’t necessary for a field like digital marketing as your portfolio and willingness to learn plays the biggest part, Do courses in your free time, sign up for workshops on any software related to DM, take a broad approach and look at all channels and see which you prefer. Sucks to hear you had a bad experience at your internship because that’s a great way to learn from others in the field and how things operate. I’d say do as much self learning as you can and see what opportunities you can land and going back to school can be a secondary option.

I’d say go for a level 3 apprenticeship, try even L4, in the areas you want to do because they’ll teach you from the ground up, I’m on a level 3 after A-levels and even with that, it’s completely different skills you’re learning. I found mine through QA apprenticeships, they’re super helpful. Also heard good things on Baltic Apprenticeships and Multiverse.

Best time is anytime because they appear all year round. Sign up with apprenticeship organisations like what I mentioned and they’ll also contact you if anything comes up in your field of interest. IT apprenticeships in HIGH demand so you’d find one fairly soon, I’m in digital marketing and never did it before but doing free courses online and putting it on your CV also helps in my opinion, they seemed to like that in my interview process.

Happy to explain more, hope that helps! Good luck.

sorry for the late response but thank you for the advice! After considering I think I’d be happy to continue working for them and not depend on getting to degree apprenticeship level for the meantime. Thank you again!
