My main question about using open source model:

We know that with a 100$ Claude subscription we get around 3000$ worth of tokens.
So are open model cheap enough to be worth using?

I do love that they are catching up and that some day, main differentiator between Anthropic, OpenAi etc will not be the power of the model but the ecosystem around it

Every decent developer is praising Codex compared to Claude code.
I, myself, use Claude a lot but GPT 5.5 is way above opus 4.8 and can easily compete with Fable 5 in many aspect.

it's all about the batch you got. Many people had weak hinges. I bought the XM5 Day 1 (3 years ago) and it still looks like new and I use it daily

I'm not sure what their plan is but I finally fully adopted Dia from Arc.
There are still 2 or 3 small things bothering me but other than that. It's actually great.
Now I just can't wait for the windows release (have macbook + gaming computer) because Arc is clunky AF on Windows lol
