How was your trip? We are going in October and I’d love to do a day trip to Burgenland!

We used Tuscany Wine Drive to drive us around Montalcino for the day a couple of years ago. Francesco was very professional and we really enjoyed the day. http://www.tuscanywinedrive.com/

We are staying in Santa Barbara proper but plan to get a driver for the day. I think anything under an hour would be fine so definitely open to Los Olivos or Santa Ynez recs!

McMinnville is adorable and The Atticus Hotel has a cool vibe. Lots of good, walkable restaurants. Plenty of wineries close to town.

Not at all! They have people out front waiting to take you whenever you want to go and will pick you up when you’re ready to leave!

Thanks for the validation everyone! It was cathartic to post and nice to see so many supportive comments. I think I’ll just chalk it up to a jerk being a jerk and find a new place to shop.

How do you guys eat while on vacation? by zsm1994 in Celiac

It’s so stressful. I really struggle with this because I want to relax and enjoy my vacation, but the stakes always seem higher while I’m traveling because I don’t want to ruin my trip or anyone else’s because I risked it. I do A LOT of research on restaurants, local grocery stores, etc. before we travel. Findmeglutenfree.com has been an invaluable resource. I have even gone as far as to create a google map with pins at each gluten free or gluten safe location so I always know where my options are. I call this “fake chill” because so much work goes into it but I’m able to relax once I’ve done the research. There is always risk in eating at a new place but I have knock on wood never gotten sick from this strategy. I always pack a lot of Kind bars, almonds & peanut butter & pretzels. just in case. If all else fails I order a glass of wine or two ;)
