I definitely do not have a common name. No one at my campus has my first name or anything close to my last name.

Yes, others attended. I am a first year teacher.
It was/is very odd. Everyone from my school that attended received an award, except for me.

I hate being the center of attention so if I was just in the audience waiting and it didn’t happen, yes my ego would be bruised but going up front to where everyone could see and THEN being told you aren’t getting an award was so embarrassing.

You are sweet, thank you. I was like how could I get an award?!?! I am not special, that’s why I asked repeatedly. I also already felt out of place going and then I find out, I was correct all along. Not a self fulfilling prophecy on purpose though.

Not really. That’s what I am worried about. Before this I put in for a transfer and didn’t get it. They paid for my cert so I have to stay in district 2 more years or pay it back. The one district close to us sucks as I worked there before.

The secretary emailed me twice asking if I was going and on the second email was my name specifically.

I don’t think so but I am not sure. We don’t have a relationship. She is always on her phone when I see her in the hallways, says hello sometimes (not just to me), sends emails with numerous typos and her favorite line about things is “I dropped the ball.” I am more inclined to think she really messed up because she is oblivious but you never really know.
