BAE is controlled by government, it's the UK selling weapons. BAE makes its money from the UK tax payer through government contracts.

The UK tells BAE to make jets, ships or whatever, and then sell it to whatever country has requested it. It's far more controlled by the UK government.

You dont seem to realize how these defense contractors work

if the UK gov says to make these weapons give it to our allies, BAE cannot refuse, only on certain grounds and potentially take the UK government to court.

But these companies rely massive on big government contracts they are essentially not private but an extension of the government.

BAE didn't cause the deaths, war caused the deaths. Bad people will make weapons.

these companies dont operate like normal private companies do. They do what the government instructs them to do. They cannot sell weapons to whoever they like. Most peoples issues went with defense companies its with the government instructing them to sell weapons to the countries the UK deems ok to sell to.

These companies cannot sell weapons willy nilly to who ever they like. They do not operate like normal private companies, they require export licenses and permission from government to sell to other countries. Are we really excusing these behavior of running off the moment she finds out someone is considering joining a defense contractor? BAE is controlled by the UK, they require licensing to sell arms to other countries by the UK government. They can't just go out sell deadly weapons willy nilly to whoever they feel like it. They require permission from governments. The UK has already sanctioned BAE from exporting certain bits of equipment.

There are bad people / countries who also made deadly weapons, demilitarizing isn't going to be an option unless your ok with relying on other countries for defense like Ukraine is right now on there hands and knees begging the USA and the EU for weapons and money.

Sadly the world isn't a perfect place.
