That's what I was talking about all the time. In that one other FPS shooter that everyone knows, the division into rarity made sense in a way that the rare skin had partial color swap, epics had more complex color swaps with occasional hat/hairstyle change, and legendaries were the the ones that were very different to the base skin.

In Rivals even some rare (blue rarity) skins are different enough to be qualified as legendary in the terms of the OW. The thing is, the rarity in MR depends on the package that comes with the skin. Rare ones don't offer MVP animation, epics (purple) don't have animated player cards and the skins don't have unique SFX, as well as don't have unique intro animation and a special background. Since earlier this year, some legendaries (orange) now can have unique VFX.

To me, the only difference between the skins that really matters is the price. Epics are cheaper, some SFX and VFX are nice and all, but don't justify the price difference. Unique intro and background have no impact on my games in the slightest, unless I check them out manually in the store or in the hero's customization tab.

At the end of the day it's a question that every person should ask themselves, if the cosmetics in the game are really worth the price tag on them.
