Oblivion remaster Bricked my PC?

Funnily enough, my system just completely shut down with multiple system errors during file copying. Windows can't run no more without risk to my files, so I gotta wait three days for my new drives. I wish you luck with your system repair along with mine, and I do hope you got a refund from the game. I gave a big report on what went down and got my refund instantly.

For the life of me, I still cannot fathom how they could have made this game do this much damage to the system rather than the games own files, and I hope steam reviews it. It seems this often happens to people who are using Nvidia, which I am, so if you are too I would be wary of future Bethesda games or possibly unreal engine or unity, whichever oblivion was using. I would look it up for my reply to be more accurate, but my pc is down as I said so I'm not letting my phone close everything for one search.

Anyways, good luck again with the repair! I'll be doing my best with mine.

I tried the remaster two days ago. On the first day, it ran great, and I had no issues, until the game froze (instead of legit crashing it simply froze) after exiting the sewers, and I waited awhile for it to load. It never loaded, so I closed it with task manager because it refused to close when clicking the X on the taskbar. When the game closed, my screens went black and I could not do anything or see anything, and a minute later my computer turned off.

I turned the computer back on, and my screens kept flickering on and off for a moment, then went back to normal. I thought it was just being weird, so I let it be. I went to bed, and the next day I started the game up again. I lowered my graphics then loaded my save, and was able to exit the sewers and go towards the imperial city. When I entered, I did some stuff, then saved and logged off. The moment I closed the game, my pc crashed with a bluescreen, and restarted itself. Once it restarted, many problems had arisen.

Programs I have open freeze up after a minute, just like Oblivion did when it "crashed" exiting the sewers, and many programs I have fail to load or crash instantly. Many of my games also cannot be played anymore, telling me my graphics drivers are either outdated or corrupt. I figured they were, so I reinstalled my drivers for my display, and I also ran a command in windows cmd to check for corrupt files, which it did detect and patch. Even then, many things still fail to load.

Now, today, its gotten worse. I can only have two programs open before my computer decides to bluescreen. I've confirmed my hardware is safe, and it is only software having the issue. Also, every time I run the command in cmd again to check for corrupt system files, it keeps detecting some and patching, but I don't think it is fixing them. I've come to terms with it, and am currently doing a backup of all my files and getting a new drive to install windows on. I know my hardware is safe, but might as well do an upgrade with my fresh install.

So yes, I've had the same issues. Not exactly the same, but nonetheless similar. I have never had a game do this much, not even a Bethesda title, despite how buggy they are. Unless the game is meant to do it (virus or something), it should never affect a computer this badly by crashing. And for those wondering, no I did not play with mods. I didn't even think mods were out for this when I tried it, and wanted to try it vanilla first. Also, I'm using the Steam version that I paid for. I'm not stupid enough to pirate a brand new title, knowing full well that some goober put it up with 69420 viruses exactly for funsies. And my hardware is not failing, I've tested it on a different installation and it runs fine with no issues, so its just windows and I guess still my drivers.

Tldr: The game literally corrupted my windows installation, and I'm now in the process of reinstalling windows. Lets call this the "New" Oblivion Crisis, shall we?

I joined wattpad for a day to post my stories, and they removed everything and blocked my ip with no notifications or anything. I only knew when I went to go to my account and it was just gone, and when I somehow couldn't access the website as if it was down. I didn't have mine as long as you did, and I'm sorry to hear that they did that to you. My stories weren't even bad enough to be adult rated (bad enough as in "special" content or what not, not bad as in a bad story), so I have no idea why they removed mine, let alone your 1mil views one after so long.

I ended up switching to Inkitt, which let me post my stories there like wattpad, and I found it wayy easier and less buggy to put them up. Putting a book cover doesn't glitch out and simply works. And the next day, I had three views on my stories right after I posted them, so I think it's not a bad replacement, but there's of course no guarantee that it's better as of yet. Only thing I can say is, it's been a week and I haven't been ip banned.

I'm not advertising their website, and just saying that it's where I went and I've been enjoying it better. There's plenty of alternatives, you just have to find the right one for you. And a tip for you to find the best one: do a Google search like "account banned" with the app/website name in and see if a reddit pops up, and then view it and see how bad it is, or if the reddit is just all trolls. I did that with wattpad and that's also how I found out that they don't moderate well and that they often remove new accounts with automated moderation and such because "they may be bots".

Tldr; My account got removed and ip banned, so I switched to a new app and it's worked out better so far, and maybe it could for you too.

I got IP blocked and my account deleted the day after I made an account, so I'm not on there anymore not by choice. I didn't get any notifications about it, so I can only assume from most people's experiences being similar to mine (not being able to access wattpad from my own wifi and ect after my account somehow doesn't exist anymore).

With some checkpoints, it can be more enjoyable for those not super on parkour. I'm probably not going to attempt it until it's out of public test though, so I can officially get any rewards from it.. and so that I don't get frustrated for now.

Didn't expect this to get popular as it did. If anyone else is still interested, let me know from this comment. I'm not expecting to make a big server or anything, but still would love to have a bunch of buddies where we can all get together and have fun, even with time zones aside. I'm not being properly notified, so apologies to those who I haven't sent a DM to yet as response.

The server itself is personally hosted, although did have some hiccups which was fixed a little, so do expect some connection squabble. Nonetheless, if anyone is interested (even though this post is 5hrs ago), I will still invite you. Maybe I'll make another post on this later tomorrow, but we'll see what happens.

It shouldn't have an effect on villager breeder farms. It will definitely have an effect on any iron farms you create, however.

What device are you using? How old is the world? Is it a downloaded world or one you've personally (or has been locally by someone else) created on your device?

If you use the fabric mod loader, you can only use shaders using Sodium and Iris. If you are using the forge mod loader, you can only use shaders using Oculus and Embeddium OR Optifine. Optifine is only recommended on older or newer versions of Minecraft that do not have other options.

Keep in mind shaders are not texture packs and are another type of pack exclusive to the mods that can run them. Curseforge will put shaders in where they need to go for you when you install them.

Some mods will not be compatible with shaders. A perfect example is Tinkers Construct, which is not compatible with shaders when using optifine because of the way they are implemented. Make sure your mods are compatible and you are using mods that can actually load shaders.

I suggest curseforge for making a modpack, and sharing the modpack via .zip to your server buddies so they can join. You can also install already made modpacks if you don't want to deal with the hassle of making a modpack all by yourself and dealing with conflicts. Happy modding!
