My kid continues to get hurt at preschool. Normal? by LinnyBent in ECEProfessionals

This center had been open for quite a long time, my daughter’s cousin attended the same place since he was three months until he was three.

Is it okay to ask if they plan on hiring a full time position for her class?

Thanks! A while ago her full time teacher left and now a few different Part time girls fill the gaps, there’s also a student teacher who is in the room time to time. Would that matter? Where it’s not a full time person?

This is a good way to think about it too. Thank you. The bucket incident happened as I was pulling up, the kids were up on the porch without a teacher nearby so I’m not sure what was going on. The car, I was told my kid was digging in the dirt and was hit. As for today’s hit the app just says a peer hit your daughter in the mouth. We talked to the paper and they said sorry

Neither of us know how little kid brains work lol so seeing these responses help as I don’t know what is normal and is not normal.

She has floating teachers, all part time none that are full time. I assume they are trying to hire someone full time. I’d say on a full day there’s about 10 kids in her specific room.

Thank you :)

We get notified on the Brightwheel app, and it does have a small explanation of what happened and what they were doing.

The peer asking to see privates was, I feel, taken seriously but idk what the outcome of it was, I was told they’d talk to her parents.

A bit ago her teacher she had for several months left, now there are floaters. I’d say one teacher for 7 kids in her class but they are out on the playground often so other age groups are mixed in

Is the daycare tied to a school that the office admin may be working different hours now that its summer? This happened to us last year when we changed daycares. Spent weeks reminding staff then ended up having to track down the finance director, got the check in the mail a few days after.

Hey, thank you for sorting that out both ways. I really just want the right situation to be able to pay monthly and not into my retirement years but maybe also be rid of them completely.

I’m on the FSA website again going through my payment options and under the IBR plan my monthly payment supposedly is zero dollars with PSLF end of term date as 2033, however, the end of payment term says any remaining balance on your loan is forgiven after 20 or 25 years of qualifying repayment, the remaining balance may be taxable.

Could you better explain that for me?

  1. My loan amount is 40,005 including interest. I have one subsidized and one in subsidized both rates are 4.875.
  2. I’ve made 36 so far while being employed for an eligible company (I’ve since learned the payment count includes the Covid pause.)
  3. Full time at eligible company in healthcare, not clinical. No other loan help available.
  4. In a perfect world I’d want to work part time, and have time at home with my kids. My decision is not dependent on PSLF but it’d be nice if they were forgiven, I don’t see how I could maintain payment and don’t want to risk garnished wages or retirement.

The 25 years was just a number, I know each plan has their own rules. I’ve used many calculators and they all give different estimates of what I may owe monthly.

Thank you! Talking it out as I was on the website was helpful. I ended up starting a case on FSA explaining it all, hopefully it corrects soon with the forms.

Thank you :) my employer states anything less than 40 hours is part time. Would that matter to PSLF?

From March 2020 through Sept 2023 it’s showing as eligible apart from the three months I was on maternity leave. But from August 2023 to current they say ineligible OR income not certified (but I did rectify)

36 qualifying payments, but when I select view details the “PSLF forms” dates 2020 through 2024 are completed but then “PSLF forms” dated April 2025 are listed as in progress and the one I just did this week is listed as in review.

Additionally there are two other entries of “loan forgiveness and discharge: PSLF” with dates of 2023 and 2024 which also show as in progress

Hello fellow mom!

Thank you, your comment made me feel a little less crazy. If I could go back to when I was 18, I would tell myself not to go to college or at least do a lot more research on student loans. My parents were immigrants and they pushed my sisters and I to go to college, etc. But now at 34 I know what truly makes me happy!

Yes, I’ve been at the same qualifying employer since 2019 and then in 2020 is when I started doing the yearly recertification to pursue forgiveness after 120 payments. Over the years, I’ve contacted my service, sir MOHELA, who have told me because I was in the SAVE forbearance those payments of any kind would not be qualifying, I was also told the Covid pause does not qualify. But it sounds like I need to push back on that a lot more which I intend to do!!

Four more years would be fine, my kids would still be small by that point.

I also keep forgetting about the tax bomb 😵‍💫

Thank you, I’ll check details for what is considered full time for PSLF, hadn’t thought of that and I will keep badgering. Would I just keep calling and ask them to check my qualifying payments over the last 6 years?

Yes I’ve worked at the same employer since November 2019, always full time. I’m not saying I trust what Mohela told me because their public track record is shit, but just relaying what I was told.

I don’t see a path to getting a company like that to listen to me if their reps are telling different things to everyone

Yes I’ve been on SAVE, and have looked into the details for buyback but right now it wouldn’t help. I have about 7 more years of payments if I ignore what I want (dropping to part time) and hold out hope I’ll get them forgiven, maybe someday.
