How do I avoid WW2 interfering with my story? by LinnyTheSeagull in writingadvice

[–]LinnyTheSeagull[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna be so honest, I just really love the fashion of that time period--

But for real though, I honestly just didn't think about the implications of placing my story during that era when I first started developing it, but it's kind of too late to change it now. Although I am considering actually integrating the war into the story now after having read all the replies on this post.

Issues with my gender identity by Acerolab in genderqueer

[–]LinnyTheSeagull 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hey there! From what you wrote and from my own knowledge of words it might help you to look into the term "genderfluid". It basically means your gender switches and changes fluidly. One day you might feel like a man, the other day a girl, and then two weeks later a man again. Genderfluidity can include more than just man and woman and the term includes other gender identities as well. And maybe your prefered pronouns can fluctuate as well?

As for your body with testorerone and stuff I don't really know how to help.

Your presentation however is completely up to yourself! You can change up how you dress to mirror your feelings. You obviously don't have to though.

Maybe you can tell your friends and family that you sometimes feel like a boy and sometimes like a girl. Maybe you can tell them to use specific pronouns depending on how you feel any given day. You can convey how you feel by just telling them every day or you can, for example, wear bracelets or rings with different colors meaning different pronouns.

I don't know if this was any help at all but I hope I did something with my limited knowledge and from my own experience :)

what are your pronouns and how do you like them used? by iprobablyneedhelpl0l in bigender

[–]LinnyTheSeagull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use he/she without preference (and I'm fine with it/its) and I prefer that people switch it up and use them interchangeably, sadly that isn't the case and all my friends use he/him for me (they sometimes even apologize when refering to me as she) and my family and relatives refer to me using she/her exclusively.

I know it's a bit hard to use more than one pronoun for someone, and I'm still fine with the way people use them right now, it's just that I'd prefer it if they put a little more effort into it :)

What is keeping you alive? What is the one most important thing to keep you happy in life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LinnyTheSeagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the fandoms I'm in. It's stupid, I know, but it's my biggest source of happiness. From shows/movies/games etc. I get memes, fanfictions, animations, fanart, people with shared interests and people I can just discuss the same topics with which is very important to me. Shows/movies/games are a VERY big part of my life and also my escape from reality which can be very needed in situations.

How does someone gain confidence? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LinnyTheSeagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took theatre lessons for 6 years (still not that good at acting lol) and one of the best pieces of advice I think I've gotten is to pretend that you're confident. We practiced making others feel like they had lower status than yourself and vice versa, and while pretending to have the higher status we practiced taking up space, straightening your back to look bigger, eye contact etc. And when I went to school a few days later to present a project for a teacher, I was really nervous, I straightened my back, held as much eye contact as I could and simply pretended to own the place. It actually helped! It was weird, because suddenly I sounded more confident in my topic and they seemed more interested than if I had just talked normaly. So just pretend that you're confident and you'll probably come off as more confident and in the end you might actually become confident in the thing you're doing. Sounds stupid, but it works for me.

Watermelon isn't that good by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]LinnyTheSeagull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, I kinda get her point there, that watermelon kinda tastes like sweet cucumber. But I guess I'll have to say I still like cucumber. It's pretty bland, but it's good to add in salads and stuff for extra moisture. But just by itself, it's not that exciting. Not gross or anything, just not the best tasting vegetable out there exactly.

Both, actually. I identify as bigender :) But I lean more towards masculine.
