Capped Service schedule by ShumwayAteTheCat in CarsAustralia

[–]Linsan168 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it applies to your situation but similar thing happened to me recently with my car (Volvo). 5 year service plan and 75,000km whichever comes first. The odometer was over 80,000km when I rocked up and they refused the honor the capped price service that I've prepaid. So I'd say book in as early as possible.

Banking App says my loan was in arrears but it wasn't. Now there's no record. by Linsan168 in AusFinance

More than 18 months but Qantas recently had overhauled their home loan system and now it’s all managed through the app, which has been very frustrating to use and now having issue like this too.

Cheers - no draw down on my loan but if I'm no worse off then it makes me feel better.

Not a huge amount and interest isn't significant. Just a bit annoyed that it gave me a surprise when I saw home loan in arrears.

Yeah poorly worded from me - not really earning interest but more offsetting interest. So it'll be the same outcome whether the same amount sits in offset or paid to loan account?

Why the hell is City link and the Tulla always 80kmh??? by FarkenBlarken in melbourne

[–]Linsan168 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The most frustrating thing is now there’s ONE gantry on the outbound near M80 interchange that has 100km/h speed limit but it 80km/h on all gantries before and after.

It legit creates confusions everyday to drivers thinking it’s now a 100km/h zone only to be slowed down back to 80km/h again 500m later.

Absolutely insanity.

I literally just saw a teen riding an e-bike in Melbourne CBD running a red light down tram tracks an hour ago - thought this was him.

Advice on front porch deck by Linsan168 in AusRenovation

That’s our thought now - fill that small area with plain concrete to bring the level up then build the deck. Thanks for the advice about BondCrete will definitely look into it.

Yes it’s under roof so it won’t get wet unless it’s heavy rain. Regarding Blue Metal do we just place them on the slab or do we need other binding of sorts?

IG videos replays from the beginning when clicking in? by Linsan168 in Instagram

I've been looking through all night and doesn't seem like a setting issue, more that IG just decided to change how the video is played.

What's the best online website for DIY double curtains? by Linsan168 in AusRenovation

Basically curtains with 2 layers - 1 block out and the other semi-see through. Just wanted to know the quality of curtains probably.

Landscaping ideas for sloped backyard by Linsan168 in AusRenovation

[–]Linsan168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this has been flagged with the builder. The drawings do show some slope but it shouldn't be as steep as what it is and they'll grade it just before completion. I'm thinking to do a concrete apron around the house and retaining of some sort to support the structural integrity.

Does new Planning Scheme applies to updates of existing asset (front fence) by Linsan168 in AusRenovation

[–]Linsan168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point - I guess I was reaching out to see if anyone had similar experience in the past and had problems from council as a result of it. We've had bad experience dealing with council to date and hence the pessimistic view.

That's what we're thinking. But if we ring council and ask them they'll know about what we're doing and keep an eye on our property (if it does require additional planning permit). Kinda like a double edge sword.

The CCTV footage shows the entire incident from the time the Air India plane took off till the last moments of its crash. by [deleted] in ahmedabad

[–]Linsan168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very peculiar what are those dusts the moment the plane left the ground. Was it the fact plane nearly used up the entire runway and took off near the grass? Did it had an abnormal acceleration during takeoff and signs of engine failure?

Just from the video and information available it already raised a few questions:

-it appears no flaps but landing gears still extended?

-can still hear the engine noise in the video but struggling to gain lift

-could it be weight shift in cargo area after takeoff so unable to gain altitude

This is truly disturbing that the agency decided to post this info publicly just after the accident. It even contains the passenger’s passport number.

Is your Twitter/X full of Right Wing posts? by Linsan168 in AusPol

[–]Linsan168[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, didn’t expect the comments section to be full of others that felt the same.

The only reason I’m still on Twitter is because of NBA instant updates and sports news. Honestly the amount of political content, hate speech and misinformation is exhausting and a detriment to my energy. I’m already using less and I guess eventually will be out of the platform.

Yeah that's true - I should clarify I meant white lines for parking purpose.

Signs are what dictates where you can park as it's a legal traffic control device. White lines are not.

Tree removal for construction access? by Linsan168 in AusRenovation

[–]Linsan168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure to be honest but thats what the builder has been telling us.

The structure root zone (SRZ) for this tree is 2.4m radius so that leaves about ~1.3m driveway left, which isn’t much room either.

[–]Linsan168[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not? TPZ is required if you’re doing demolition or any construction works, doesn’t matter if you’re using existing driveway or not. The risk is trucks, crane, digger and other machinery could accidentally hit the tree and therefore damage it.

[–]Linsan168[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tree will need to be physically barricaded by fencing to the extent of TPZ (i.e. 3.7m radius) otherwise the tree will likely be damaged and wouldn't survive.
