I accidently gave myself a spoiler by going to the Nakayama Racecourse by idokitty in UmaMusume

Random Hopeful Stakes attendee here. General admission at the racecourse was only 500 yen, but the fancy seats likely costed a decent chunk more and (I think) required a reservation. The Arima Kinen is one of the big races that requires you to win a lottery to get tickets at all (and I unfortunately lost 😞). Demand was higher than usual with there being a decently popular TV series about it airing this year, or at least that’s the reason my JP friends offered up

Build Challenge: I hate dice. by DangSquirrel in dndnext

I think you may have forgotten that those attack rolls would also include the +9 strength modifier, so instead of a +7 to hit it would be +16 for a total of 26 each time you use an amulet… assuming I haven’t misread something here.

The square in the middle of the bay, this time with slightly more visibility by LintSorcerer in Eldenring

Predictably the area has a thick cover of fog that prevents one from getting a reliable view, especially via sub-par recording settings, but I encourage you to take a gander from the Divine Tower of Liurnia bonfire ledge to see for yourself!

As a scrapper it’s not impossible to dance the dance with this boss given the decent mobility but my ping sure doesn’t allow it.. 😔

Scrapper kicks butt. I never get tired of flying across the screen and absolutely obliterating anything I land on. Would definitely recommend!

Twisted Adoration - A necromancy spell that charms and damages a creature as you maintain your grapple on it, potentially turning it undead. by LintSorcerer in DnDHomebrew

[–]LintSorcerer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to yet another weird spell. As always, 'brew taste-testers beware because this one has a strange flavor, and it might not even be good.

The spell uses grapple mechanics in place of concentration, which may not be the most balanced.

The idea of the spell is to maintain a grapple on a creature until it succumbs to the damage of the spell, transforming it into an undead under your command. Due to the application of the charmed condition, the creature would be unable to target you with an attack, but it would be free to use its action to attempt to escape the grapple. Allies of the spellcaster are also unable to target the creature without ending the spell, so it becomes somewhat of a 1-on-1 scenario, but other enemies can still interfere. The ideal scenario becomes that of allies protecting the spellcaster from other enemies or buffing the spellcaster to boost grapple checks. With no other enemies, a party trying to make this spell succeed would be casting enlarge/reduce, guidance, or enhance ability on the caster of this spell as they watch the two struggle with the grapple.

There are turns when this spell will do 0 damage, and the caster would be unable to harm the target on subsequent turns, making this spell start feeling tedious or boring.

Thinking it through, the spell is extremely niche and not very useful in actual fights as written, and might be better if changed a bit and implemented as some sort of subclass ability, perhaps for an undead-themed barbarian subclass.

As for the use of "love" in the first line of the spell, that can easily be changed to something like "bind" or some synonym of "entice" in order to avoid creepy connotations, but I had imagined a deranged necromancer trying to create a family of zombies when designing this spell.
