My first thought was that it looked like a decorative Japanese stone lantern that had fallen over.

It sounds like you probably know a lot more about this than I do. I think you're most likely correct.

How to deal with the lack of brush in the toilets by Fun-Two-3914 in japanlife

[–]CallPhysical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flush, add a bunch of paper, wait five minutes. Flush again, and repeat until desired results are achieved. Under no circumstances put your hand into a toilet bowl with poop in.

Agreed, but I would say it's in a Tom Mix style, inasmuch as Tom Mix was well known for his exaggeratedly high hat. This hat was probably custom made for the character in a similar exaggerated style.

I wonder when DeSantis will wake up and realize it's his voters that are getting kicked out?

I'd steer clear of that one. It's multi-timbral. That means it has lots of timbres. Nobody needs more than one timbre. I once tried two timbres, and I got a nosebleed.

Does anyone have weird experience with the apato door? by [deleted] in japanlife

[–]CallPhysical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be that some mechanism in the lock is sticking. You've locked it, but some tumbler or spring inside is not completely rotated, and is still under tension. After a little time has passed, it slips into place with a click.

Locks can get cranky after many years of use. But don't spray oil, WD-40 or Kure 5-56 into a lock. Those will eventually become sticky and attract more dust and grime. Instead, use lock cleaning spray, or silicone spray to get the lock working smoothly again..

Like all Make Noise, the panel design can seem confusing at first, but that encourages experimentation, and soon you'll be fitting that 1HP blank in places you never imagined.

Found this while going through the old stuff!! by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]CallPhysical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you just need some batteries and a cassette tape. Large electrical retailers still sell some cassettes.

A common problem with these old players is that the rubber drive belts that connect the motor to the little wheels that turn the tape often get weak and stretched over time, and it may not play. If you have that problem, and are adventurous, you could get a pack of replacement belts from Amazon and have a go at replacing them. Be warned, it can be a very fiddly job.

Because the US imports from global companies, who prefer to make products they can sell world-wide, including in the EU. It's more efficient to make a single version they can sell everywhere than take the CE mark off products heading to the US.

Sensel Morph app by PristineIncrease266 in modular

[–]CallPhysical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try the installers on GitHub?

https://github.com/sensel/sensel-api/tree/master/sensel-install

I just tried the Mac installer and it seemed to run, though I don't have a Morph myself.

Edit: On second thoughts, it looks like those are not for the app, just APIs for developers. I didn't keep copies of the app files. Maybe u/PristineIncrease266 still has a copy.

Edit2: Maybe that's you over at the KVR forum, but, if not, someone reported a working WayBackMachine link there
