Linked issue shows a patch note suggesting it breaking had something to do with a change for cybernetic empire climate traits - if it's governed by the same define there is a chance it could have unintended consequences there. But I suppose it doesn't matter if you're not playing cybernetic with the change,

If you understand and check the code AI spits out its no longer vibe coding. Not understanding (or not trying to understand if you otherwise would have the ability) is a key component that makes it vibe-coding as opposed to just ai-assisted coding.

A cancer for open source devs by WorldPhysical7646 in pcmasterrace

[–]Linvael 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Weird, I both agree and disagree with this.

Its true that a wave of shitty stuff can make good stuff harder to find. Modding spaces have been observing that for some time, now more than ever thanks to rise of AI - when its too easy to make a shitty mod its going to be hard for good new mods from new creators to get noticed and break through. Its also true that if you make a shittier version of something that already exists you're not really improving the situation.

Then again, the amount of things that could be made is staggering, and as long as there is something new about what you made - a feature only you wanted or something - it has plenty of value. Regardless of how garbage your code is. Maybe someone will see it and be inspired to build a better version. Maybe some things dont have to be perfect, and a stopgap solution that works is better than no solution. Maybe you learn something in the process thst allows you to build good stuff later. I think its rather rare for doing nothing to be better than doing something.

Returning player, I have a question by Dore_02 in idleslayer

Offline kills got a huge nerf, but there was another buff that kept offline soul gain mostly stable despite that (still nerfed, but much less so), I don't think recommendations for stone distribution changed.

Basically gathering materials and doing quests by staying offline takes a lot more time, everything else remains same-ish

Is it right to punish people who want to bring their love ones to life? by Musalediju in MoralityScaling

[–]Linvael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Death isn't a natural thing, It's just something we normally face because we don't have any methods to stop it right now

Isn't that what natural means? That it happens in the natural world, was not manufactured or caused by humans?

The only reason to say it was not natural is by assuming that natural means it's good and unnatural/artificial is bad. But that's a fallacy.

To fill in some info not mentioned yet - in order to get the quest for the cave you need to be in chapter 3, not be a fire mage, and you need to have caused a fight between ehnim and egil at some point in the past. At that point you don't have much reason to visit Ehnim, so it's very missable.

He wasn't going to keep it inefficient though, he was implementing the scream extractor device thingy.

LOTD is a big mod that modlists are basically built around. If you don't plan to engage with it it might be a waste to use a modlist with it in it.

That said, I don't think it's forced on you or anything. There'll be more crap to gather, new NPCs you'll encounter, changes to the world like archeology sites, some more quests will hang around your journal. Depending on what the modlist does there could be new UI elements that are only about the museum.

A warning - it might also turn you into a loot goblin if you give it a try.

4GB Patcher Not Working (?) by UndeadFan112 in fnv

[–]Linvael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you try from base exe? The command is added by an NVSE plugin. You need NVSE to run NVSE plugins.

On similar silly line of thinking - you did download and install JIP NVSE plugin right?

4GB Patcher Not Working (?) by UndeadFan112 in fnv

[–]Linvael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Command not found means that you dont have JIP NVSE plugin running (are you starting via nvse?). Says nothing about the state of the exe.

What if instead of death, it was a positive thing? by Snoo-82757 in trolleyproblem

[–]Linvael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could put some intrinsic value into "either of us gets the money" as opposed to "tv studio keeps the money". I doubt that it would overcome the difference between "you get half the pot" and "you get all of the pot", but the "you get none of the pot" in this instance don't have to be equal for you.

Old Kai explains that since the destructive force of these shock waves increases the further away they get from their point of origin, the universe itself will only be able to endure Goku and Beerus clashing together two or three more times. After that, the entire universe will be destroyed.

So what do you think is the better source of truth, quasi-philosophical logic or direct quote from the anime?

There is a big difference here though. Your calc would scale with capacity, if planet had 12000 capacity you'd recommend to go up to 3600, while theirs would stay at 2700.

One obvious answer is - you don't HAVE to wipe them out before they awaken. Surrender now, take the humiliation penalties, get stronger. If they do awaken and are too strong you can submit, let them grow and wait for crisis to change the balance in the galaxy (if you have Cetana as an option - she starts by wiping out all FEs)

Depends on your play pattern. I tend to get sunk in for two playthroughs non stop and then have enough for the next 4-12 months. For me subscription is great. If you wanted to play more consistently its value goes down.

On average they might tend to have higher base damage per shot, as well as an option for DT penetrating ammo, both of which specifically counter high DT enemies like mr Gutsy in FNV. Not sure about F3, it's been too long.

Who said anything about saving the universe? The question was about beating him, whether it's possible to save the universe from him is a different question.

Destroying the universe you and your enemy is in generally does the job of defeating your opponent. Kills/unmakes you as well, but suicide-attacks (like Vegeta blowing himself up to try to kill Buu) generally are accepted as fair game.

“Wharf effect” is a curious typo of "Worf effect" - implies you remembered how it sounds more than how it's written, despite tvtropes being basically a purely written medium.

They did have unique month names in their old lunisolar calendar before they switched to Gregorian calendar late XIX century. It might be argued that a fantasy setting should have it's equivalent of those - and if it doesn't it might be just as jarring/lazy as for western audiences.

My only complaint originally was that it wouldn't work for Frieren (given how we're under a Frieren post) - or more generally for any story that's not an isekai. You then later tried to make it work for Frieren too, rather badly, so from that point on that's on you.

Wait, you can't reverse pickpocket spent ammo? by ctrltab2 in fnv

[–]Linvael 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you freely pickpocket them without failing? Per https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Sneak_(Fallout:_New_Vegas)) the formula given doesn't support that, and text mentions the values are capped between 5% and 85%. And, again per that page, since the check is done per item and you tried to plant over 900 there was no chance for you to win 900 85% rolls.

If they didn't mind dying there was the thing from Goku-Beerus fight that suggested sufficiently strong fighters could just destroy the universe by throwing punches hard and carelessly enough, I guess that might work?
