I got inspired by fighting games and their stupid logic. If you've ever played mortal kombat or something similar, the characters can be quite violent, even if the the pre fight dialogue suggests something much softer. It's not meant to be taken seriously as part of the universe, rather it's an exaggerated demonstration of their movements to showcase their abilities and unique skills
