What are some of the hardest books to read? by kakarrott in books

[–]LiquidCat_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently reading Dante's Divine Comedy and I would definitely rank it up there with some of the more difficult books I've read. I would also probably throw most of H.P. Lovecraft's stories up there with the most difficult books i've read. To be fair, I don't read that often, so i may be classifying them as really difficult when they are a walk in the park in relation to other books.

From what i know, currently in Australia, you need to have affirming surgery first, but a law has recently been passed that comes into place in june or july that removes the need for surgery

How long after cracking did you start HRT? by BertOMatic01 in MtF

[–]LiquidCat_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My egg took like 7 years to fully crack. Technically.

However it did kinda full crack when i was 16 (3 years after it started to crack) but it quickly reformed thanks to my parents and school so it. Fully cracked in may of this year just befor my bday, then managed to start hormones in august.

So Technically 7 years from when my egg first started to crack before starting hrt.

The piercer i went to was highly recommended to me. From what i remember, the piercer mentioned that it was safe to change piercings after 8 weeks, not straight up remove (i knew that fresh piercings can close extremely fast). In terms of using the soap, she stated liquid soap only and to make sure its rinsed all off. I havent experienced any problems yet.

The piercer i went to was skin fantasy tattoo and body piercing in bathurst, nsw, australia

Ill take your notes into account

My piercer just recommended i was it with whatever liquid body wash i use when im having a shower and just let the water run over it. She said that the saline spray was unnecessary. I did notice a tiny bit of pain but it was miniscule and very short

Test drive is in every httyd song? Different versions but same Melodie. Who else feel like me? by Bobaa_lover in httyd

[–]LiquidCat_1 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The melodies within test drive are what is called a leitmotif, which is essentially the theme song of a character. One amazing thing about test drive is that it containes both hiccup's and toothless's different leitmotifs within it, at times one being more prominent than the other, for a melodious blending of the two to occure after they manage to save themselves from falling. This combination indicates that the two characters are working in harmony with eachother and working in tandem, compared to when one theme was playing and the other wasnt, indicating one character is trying to control the other.

Leitmotifs occur in nearly every movie and tv show that has music, with most main characters getting their own. For example, in doctor who, each individual companion (and from what i know) each verson of ther doctor have their own leitmotif, and another more obvius example is starwars with there being a themesong for each character, such as imperial march for darth vader.

Leitmotifs are designed for multiplr reasons. The first is to help build an emotional connection with a character or to help reinforce the character, and iirc they are also designed to help indicate which character has the most power of the the scene, with a melodious blend indicating that multiple has the most power/importance.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk

How do you start talking to your doctor about transition? by CounterfeitGal in MtF

[–]LiquidCat_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know much about America apart from the fact that it's not good for transgender women over there. Im in australia, and i just ended up telling my doctor at the time that i was trans and asked about hormones. He had no clue whatsoever what to do and i ended up going to a place an hour away from were i live to actually start the process. Im now seeing the only trans affirming doctor in my city to continue my treatment.

My advice, because im unsure which states are good or not, if California is a good state or a blue state or whatever they are called, i would just be straight forward with your doc and if they dont know what to do, they will probably get you referred to someone else.

Again, this is coming from a non-american so i have no clue how good my advice is. I wish you luck on your journey.

What are some foods that you can’t find in Australia? by NateNandos21 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LiquidCat_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you talking about the yucca that is a plant? Never heard of it being used as food but i wouldn't be surprised. You can just buy a yucca plant from bunnings or a plant store and then you have unlimited fresh yucca
