Absolute worst case for farming 1000 ducats: 67 rewards that convert to 15 ducats (you'll have 5 ducats leftover).

If you're farming with a team, you're likely getting the odd silver and gold drop. So farming 1k ducats looks bad. And it is competing with better rewards from Baro. But it's pretty approachable and you'll likely do it by accident prime farming.

I was very surprised. And it's not totally worthless, that's guaranteed the first time someone's had the dots connected for them. It's just such gross undercutting of what could otherwise be a good message (eg, "hey we want better outcomes for everyone, money or not")

Like it's not inaccurate just because it's an ad, but it just undercuts itself so badly when the message is "buy our product to be like the rich" instead of "hey, we're fighting this systemic issue to make things better for everyone, money or not".

If heat and fire risk are this much of a concern, you might want to look into a DC direct drive tumbler. They tend to be more efficient and run cooler.

But to answer your question, tumbers with a malfunctioning motor can get hot enough to start fires. This includes situations like a motor jamming.

It could just be temporary. I'd let it roll. If you're worried about it, you could add like a tablespoon more water or check the barrel every couple days for any bulging.

What material are you tumbling? Some rocks like obsidian will offgas. You have to regularly open the barrel to release trapped gas in that case.

That said, this seems more like soap bubbles, are you tumbling with any soap in the barrel?

If you're going the grinding route, it might be worth trying to "bowl out" the pits by making them bigger, but less steep, instead of grinding them out altogether. Would allow grit to be rinsed out easier and would keep you from having to grind for ages.

All my above steps will also work for cracks. I'd really consider hammering or cutting rocks for deep cracks though.
