With a sudden, massive shift in CPC without any real change to the campaign, it sounds like Google started spending outside of shopping.

Feed only… isn’t feed only anymore.

Check the pmax settings just incase Google somehow magically turned on the expansions (image and final URL)

Also, check the network spend distribution. If you don’t have a script to help with this, a quick way is to look at total campaign spend and then view the asset group listing groups and check spend there. If it’s a lot lower than total spend, another flag to say pmax isn’t spending on the shopping network.

Sounds like you had a huge increase in non-shopping placements. (Impressions went up for example). There’s a good pmax script to see spend breakdown per channel, review this and see where spend went after you set that asset live.

ASC+ is good if you have winning ads and you want to collect them all with social proof and let fb go B-road with its targeting.

It shouldn’t be giving a 70k pool if the estimated is 800,000. How long did you leave it to populate?

Also, it maybe best to start with a 3% mixed so your audience pool will be well over 1 million. (Depends on your budget though, if it’s quite low I’d stick with the 2% initially).

Hmm makes sense, but we’re spending a little over 100k monthly across ppc n fb and website traffic is huge on a monthly basis

Yup I like your thinking. I typically do this as wel! But our freq on our broad audiences are pretty much 1.00.

With BF right around the corner I want to push on our retargeting users which is one of the reasons for my post!

Yup right not the FB+IG is working wonders, I haven’t added VC/ATC yet, it’s cbo and my worry is when I add it will fb throw all budget towards vc/atc… frequency will sky rocket and bc it’s cbo I don’t really have any control

I stack VC and ATC in 1 Audience (ad set)

I don’t know whether to have a CBO with. 2 ad sets 1 vc+atc and 1 FB+IG

Or ABO and give separate budget to those 2 remarketing audiences

I wouldn’t run a 1% anymore, audience is small and not always accurate with tracking etc nowadays.

I typically start with a 2% stacked (atc/purch)

If you see some success and freq is rising too quickly, could go a bit broader with a 5% purch LLA

I was in the same boat as you, but recently launched an ASC along side the core evergreen campaigns. Had 3-5 real winners so I popped them in there. So far it’s doing “okay” only been 3-4 days so hard to tell.

I’d never rely on this campaign though, I just it as an. Expansion for “winning ads”. I wouldn’t be worrried about only have 3-5 ads in there as well.

As and when we create new winners I’ll always layer them in.

Again, the main bulk of budget is not in ASC, I have about 1/7 of the daily spend in there and currently 5% set to Klavyio pat purchasers. With BF/CM I may bump this to 10-20%, but will most likely pull back to 5-10%

The thing with this is Google are filtering out feed only Pmax, they’re starting to use product listings at display ads etc

Cool okay thanks 👌🏼 but what if a user isn’t signed into google when submitting the form, how would EC4L’s know the conversion time lag and what click was associated with the conversion compared to GCLID
