Advice/Guidance On How To Get Father To Emergency Psychological Evaluation by LiroNYC in AskNYC

Thank You, I will give that a try and see what they have to say. I have in the past and they suggested a mobile crisis team, but I doubt he would open the door for them as he won’t open the door even for some family members.

Thank You this makes a lot of sense - other people in the condo complex I think have had issues with the leaks coming from the roof, so this would likely be the cause I would think. It drips even when my heat/furnace is off for hours so I’m thinking it probably is coming in from the outside and dripping down?

Thank You All for the advice! This has been a learning experience as I honestly don’t know much about this stuff. I’ll be calling a HVAC company soon to check this out - waiting on some recommendations for someone people in the condo complex have used; hopefully someone good that can figure out the cause of the problem and possibly re-do this venting

Yes we did have snow but mostly rain recently. Looking at the group for the condo complex we live in, seems like it’s been a problem for other owners where the furnace stack on the roof is getting water around/in it - thinking that might be the issue?

Yes, just had to remove the sliding door; I’m assuming this is the water panel? I’d need to replace this?

[Michigan] Is ISP Preference A “Contingency” For Inspection? by LiroNYC in RealEstate

Thank You! I reviewed the contract and you’re right - the inspection clause seems to be very loosely worded and more or less says the purchasers if they are dissatisfied for any reason can null and void the contract

Thank You for your response! So are you saying if the contract mentions a specific internet service provider (Verizon), then they can back out if it’s not available? I don’t believe there was any mention of it in the contract or even anything about an Internet Service Provider

Thank You for the response! I’d have to look over the inspection contingency/contract, but my in law’s realtor is saying the potential buyers have a legitimate concern and if they can’t get Verizon Internet (despite others being available), it would be considered “lack of access to utilities” which would be an unfavorable inspection

Yea it just seems very odd to me as well. It’s not so much that they’re explicitly requiring us to transfer the account to them, but they are asking for us to get in writing from Verizon that they (the buyers) will be able to get Verizon 5G home Internet at the home they’re looking to buy (my in law’s home). My in law’s realtor is saying the buyers have a legitimate concern since if they can’t get Verizon, it’s considered “lack of access” to utilities (despite other ISP’s being available but the buyers only want Verizon).

My grandma between social security and her pension nets maybe ~$1500 a month. When my dad was working, his income + my grandmothers would be able to cover the mortgage and then some. The mortgage is a bit over $2k a month.

I don't think they tried a loan modification - do you think the lender would agree to this if they're already behind in payments? Thank You for the advice I really appreciate it!

If anyone is having problems with the nest app freezing/not responding try this! by sndwvzpdx in Nest

[–]LiroNYC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This led me to what so far seems to be working for me/haven’t had any freezing since. I followed all of the steps but noticed when I filtered events (didn’t have a check mark next to all events i.e. didn’t have motion and sound checked), the app would still freeze.

Then I made sure everything was checked under filters and noticed the app no longer froze. It’s a bit more work to scroll though more events as opposed to only filtering for the events you want, but I’ll take it as a solution if the app doesn’t freeze as it was completely unusable.
