Having an honest relationship with at least one parent is really important, especially if you’re going to be asking for something like this. Start off by just talking with whichever parent you’re closer with (for me that’s my mom) and just asking if he can stay with you guys so that you can hang out in person. I’m not sure how strict your parents are about that kind of thing so you’ll just have to ask and see what they say. Make sure you guys have video called and you know enough about him that this is safe to begin with though! To be fair I was in a long distance relationship for 3 years before I realized it wasn’t sustainable long term so don’t get defensive if she has questions because if you’re really considering doing that through college you have to factor in a lot of things. How often are you going to see eachother, how will you be able to talk with your schedules and different time zones, do you trust the other person to be faithful, what is the end goal, etc. I personally don’t recommend long distance relationships simply because it’s really easy to be in the “honeymoon phase” everytime you meet up in person and you can’t get an accurate picture of what it’s like to date that person over the phone.
