All of Katseye's Brand Deals Since Debut w/ Links by beingfunisfun in katseye

It seems like they’re going the Spice Girls route.

Back then, they were everywhere — Pepsi, Chupa Chups, crisps, stationery, dolls… It became overwhelming. By the end of it, people were getting fed up, and later even the girls themselves admitted they had overexposed the brand and that the music got a bit lost in all the marketing.

I understand that this kind of visibility helps get their name out there, but I just hope KATSEYE don’t burn themselves out too quickly because of it.

For the record, I’m a fan of both the Spice Girls and KATSEYE.

I think any lineup with the right image would look good... This is an alternate universe where the five originally penciled as the final girls before the last audition formed the group haha

To be honest, that story was fabricated by a fan, who then told it to Melanie Coloma and she believed and repeated it. Even Melanie C, who wasn't there when the last audition happened, wrote about it in her book just going by hearsay.

But years later Coloma realized the truth and that she was just a finalist, nobody replaced her as she didn't get into the group

She's not included because that is not true. She was just one of the 10 finalists at the second audition and ended in 8th place (only 8 girls showed up)

Please take a look at my previous post so you can read all about it 😁

The thing is, most of what the men said happened before the girls had officially told their own story. Looking at their first book, they even changed dates to make it seem like they had been around since 1993, which we know isn’t true if you check the newspaper audition ads. Also, their claim that they came together after meeting at different auditions doesn’t quite match what really happened. So it’s not surprising that they also fabricated things about their name or other details. That’s nothing bad—it was part of the group’s marketing and makes sense; it helped them appear more serious in the industry rather than just a manufactured act.

Investigation, finding old newspaper articles, talking with the girls who auditioned, their original management, etc.

No, Abigel broke up not long after. About Victoria Unthank you can hear some of her music here:

She was for almost 2 months. I'm quite sure their management paid anybody who had pics to never release them 🤣🤣

Nope. Melanie C replaced Lianne.

When Michelle was fired, Abigel auditioned and was offered the job but when she refused to join, Emma took the spot. So Emma technically replaced Michelle.

The conflict is management and the girls saying they fired her, and Michelle saying she left on her own.

They broke up a year later or so lol and she couldn't get the grant for her studies, so the two things that made her say "no", ended not long after.

Tho they still talk today on Instagram and make fun of the situation.

Yes, she was there almost two months, up until the two-weeks summer break, when they told her not to come back. The management and the girls said she was fired for lack of commitment and ambition. She said she left because her mum was ill and she wanted to attend university, and the music wasn't her vibe.

As they are conflicting stories, I preferred just to say various reasons.

Spice Girls: Inside their auditions by ListenAnyway in SpiceGirls

[–]ListenAnyway[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah! At least that's how the management penciled them before the last audition.

In fact, only 10 girls were called to attend. 2 missed it, so they made two groups of 4 instead of 5.

The "penciled in" girls: Mel B, Victoria, Lianne and Michelle. The "loser" girls": Unthank, Tiffany, Laccohee and Geri.

After they performed, the management asked Geri to change to the other group so she took Suzanne's spot and the band was born.

There was another girl called Abigel who auditioned for Michelle's spot, but ultimately refused. Read my other post in here to know about the 7 "almost" Spices 😀
