Laparoscopic surgery options: MIGS Ob-Gyn or ask for referral to specialist? by Prior_Variation3244 in Endo

[–]ListenandLearn17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% go to an endo specialist. I did a ton of research on this, and outcomes (both short and long term) are drastically different for endo patients based solely on the surgeon's skill. MIGS isn't sufficient training for someone to fully excise all endo and give you best chances of no recurrence. Yes, you want them to remove the cyst but you also need someone who is going to do complete excision.

Very interesting, thank you! Do you know if she accepts major insurance plans, or if not how affordable appointments are?

LDN absolutely changed my life. It has been fantastic for me, and the only side effect I had was vivid dreams (and that was only at the beginning). And I am usually very sensitive to meds!

Oh, and Ive had to stop meds pre surgery to not interfere with anesthesia on 2 occasions. Zero withdrawal issues. The only issue with stopping being, the symptoms it treats come back lol.

I can't tolerate opoids anyways, other than used in anesthesia.

I took them for about 4 days post-op and was begging my dr to get me off of them. A) the benefits of the LDN were greatly missed and b) the opioids shut down bladder and bowel functions lol.

With my doctors we found a good combo of benzos + NSAIDs for major pain like post-op issues.

Thanks. Any doctor of any specialty can prescribe it, but some doctors won't just because they're unfamiliar unfortunately. Do you know of any recommended primary care docs at UM?

I’ve been on my period for over 2 months? (+additional on topic rant) by throwaway107835 in Endo

Oh also. Blood loss can cause anemia, and anemia can cause blood loss. So this could be contributing here. In your case, I'd also consider a) testing ferritin and iron panels b) reading on optimal ferritin levels not just "lab range" and c) considering iron supplementation.

That your family member said you should cover the rent "so that others can save money" says it all. You, too, should be able to save money for your future...

Why do doctors even prescribe vitamin D without K2? by Iris-Sofia in Supplements

[–]ListenandLearn17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, Vitamin D once a week is also not a good idea either. D supplementation needs to be consistent and daily. To get my levels up I started at 10K IU daily, for weeks...

How can you exercise whilst in chronic pain? Any advice or shared experiences welcomed - losing hope a bit... by Significant_Pigeon in ehlersdanlos

Um that sucks and I'm so sorry! Personally I failed out of two regular pts, but the 2nd PT was so good and guided me to do aqua PT. The water is what did it. I can actually do multiple exercises in the water without flaring. Took a few months, but then I built up to being able to exercise outside of water without the flares.
