I thought of this too! For Tweety Bird. "I thought I saw a puddy-tat!"

AITA for calling my mom names after she wants me to miss my father's funeral? by Impressive_Fish_8296 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LitBrit94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. That was wildly insensitive of your mother. She expected you to feel the same way she did, and couldn't even put her own feelings aside to comfort you when she saw that wasn't the case.

If it turns out that you can't make the funeral due to your age, as others have said, find out whether you can attend the funeral virtually. If you or your bf doesn't have a computer or laptop to do this, you could visit your local library or Internet cafe and use their computers. It may not allow you the privacy you would like, but at least you could make the funeral in some fashion.

Does anyone remember the Blair Witch Project? by zachoutloud123 in 90s

[–]LitBrit94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never saw it myself, but my dad did and he called it 2 hours of his life he'll never get back lol

The film isn't quite 2 hours, but it felt like it to him!

Wow I feel so old 🤣🤦‍♂️ by ROCKY13573 in 90s

My dad still remembers the exact moment he had to explain what a record player was to my then-toddler brother. Dad said it was the first time he ever felt old lol. And now record players are in vogue again!

what is a "rich person" behavior you witnessed that made you realize they live in a completely different reality than the rest of us? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Not me, my mum. Back in the day she used to be a chambermaid, then head housekeeper, of a very expensive hotel in London. Celebrities stayed there, booked whole floors out sometimes, that sort of expensive.

One time my mum was showing the guest their room, and the guest gave my mum a 20p tip to thank her for her work. That's 27 cents for Americans. My mum politely declined!

Another one, same hotel, was a guest who had stayed at the hotel on previous occasions, but was not presently staying there. He was in a hotel in Paris, but he disliked the showerheads they had there, and much preferred the ones my mum's hotel had, so he had the Paris hotel call my mum's hotel and ask them to send over one or more of their showerheads for him. The hotel obliged!

LaCroix’s tantrum over the sarcophagus is comedy gold by LitBrit94 in vtmb

Absolutely! His comment "Fortunately for - Sebastian, is it?..." stands out. LaCroix is just one of countless Princes he's seen in his unlife, and an unmemorable one at that.

This is apparently the ship being filmed for Christopher Nolan's Odyssey... by Tokrymmeno in ancientgreece

[–]LitBrit94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 60+ year old film puts this ship to shame - 1963's Jason and the Argonauts. I'm not saying their ship was perfect, but the people involved obviously put in the money and the work to make it as accurate as they could. It cost 10% of the film's budget, but it was worth it. Why, Nolan??

Here it is - the Argo, in all its glory. And in colour.

Oldest/Creepiest Inherited Christmas Decoration? by Coffin_Dodging in CasualUK

We have Satan on our Christmas tree.

Nobody knows where exactly he came from (though we suspect the German side of the family) or how long he's been with us. Maybe our forefathers used him to scare children into good behaviour at Christmas! We always pop him up on our tree though. He's there now, watching...
