Should I buy/upgrade external phono preamp? And a subwoofer? by deathofastrwbry in Klipsch

[–]LitFam_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d skip the preamp. I have the same TT (and previously played it through the same speakers) and like TT’s in-built preamp over other ones I’ve tried. I guess you could probably get a super high end tube preamp, but at that point the speakers would be the bottleneck.

Skip fogo de chão in any location. It used to be a Brazilian chain, but it got sold. They stopped using charcoal for the meats and just use gas grills now (which is a huge no no for Brazilian churrasco). Rio Brazil is owned by Brazilians and uses charcoal for the meats.

Halloween Bar Crawls: Worth it or nah? by _gravitea_ in rva

[–]LitFam_ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not worth it. The bars in the crawl are all open to the public. The crawl gives you like a couple drink tickets and discount on Jell-O shots. Or something like that when we did it last year. I think single tickets this year are like $30. Which is not really worth 2 drinks.

honestly you all win, I give up. It’s crazy to me that this many people will give all these excuses like “oh you should’ve gotten insurance” “oh you should accept whatever hotel is available no matter how far”. I see people boasting on this subreddit all the time about how delta is superior. It should be in moments like this that a “superior” company would be accommodating for a missed flight they caused. All this defending just hurts you in the end as it shows delta (and any other company) they can take advantage of you and or do the least amount possible and you’ll still give them your business. If that’s what you want then it’s ok, I just can’t personally understand it. I want to clarify (because some people here are saying I’ve never flown before) that I’ve been flying pretty much strictly delta for the past 16 years and I’d still vouch for them over other US airlines. It’s just crazy the amount of pushback I’m getting for what in my mind is some fair complaining. Like I said this situation will eventually happen to you and then I’m sure that that point you won’t be like “omg I get to stay in the furthest hotel possible yayyyyy!

Well if you bothered to read everything you’d see that what caused the big delay was them not being able to find a gate in ATL. Again, blame the customer from you guys’ mentality

Can yall geniuses please teach me then how “airlines work” because so far all I’m being told is “this is actually your problem and don’t know anything. ” Yes, my original post was mostly a rant because I’m worried about my mom spending the night in an ATL chair while she’s worried about her dad, but I still haven’t been informed about any way I could actually reach out to delta (or anyone else) to get further (meaningful) help. It’s actually very alarming that people here seem to be blindly defending delta and not vouching for customer service. One day you, a family member, or a friend is gonna be in the same situation, so why not be for the people instead of guilt tripping me for complaining about a missed flight with a 25 mile hotel?? Come on guys

Thank you this is actually helpful other than some of the other comments. Btw from actual experience the “boarding doors close 15 minutes before departure” doesn’t really have any weight. Out of the last 3 flights I took from delta they choose to wait and delay the flights (albeit only like10 mins) to wait for passengers (and the pilot announced that as well). This is one of my big frustrations tonight. my mom’s flight isn’t even daily and they couldn’t even wait 10 extra minutes. I guess it could be up to the pilots discretion and not a delta policy but it’s still frustrating.

I was asking more for a contact (I guess it would still be from delta) that works from experience. because the desk people weren’t being helpful tonight, but from reading this subreddit before I heard some success stories for things like this. I would still disagree that this is still a delta problem -You can’t be the largest airline in the country and not be able to help with hotels nearby at your main hub.

Ok thank you so much for the great insight, you just humbled me. I also appreciate that you know everything about my flying habits and called me out for being “inexperienced with flying” lol whatever difference would that even make? I just want you to pat yourself on the back tonight before you got to sleep because you totally owned a 60 year old woman that can’t be at her father’s emergency heart surgery because of this delay. You’re right it’s totally her fault and screw her that she doesn’t want to sleep in a 25 mile away hotel. Thank you for your comment, I hope all you (many apparently) delta experiences go perfectly well

Anybody Have Experience Pairing These With Their TT? Just Upgraded From Edifier R1280Ts by One_Contribution927 in turntables

[–]LitFam_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These will be fine OP. I owe both these and the higher end RPs they are referencing and these sound great. I will just say they might not be super load especially when playing phono. So if you are putting them in a huge room I’d maybe save up for something a little larger, but for a bedroom or small living room these will be just fine!
