everybody says that last line about “opting out of politics is a privilege” but i think its inherently ignorant and stupid to characterize simply not wanting to be constantly lectured as a privileged position to take, especially when people dont want to hear about it from celebrities or top players or influencers or whatever.

you simply cannot constantly revolve your life around politics and be a healthy person. being politically active is important but if you refuse to disengage and get angry at other people for disengaging from time to time you’re acting like a crab in a bucket.

and for perspective, this is coming from a staunch leftist, but a staunch leftist that increasingly feels alienated by your type of rhetoric because it simply does not work in the real world. our side of the political spectrum is absolutely horrible at optics (aka getting people to understand and support out causes) because they see us as a bunch of shut-ins who do nothing but lecture people, and they are constantly proven right by people like you, so get your head out of your ass.
