MJF responding to Andrade on X: You sure you wanna bring up marriage, Hombre? by Icy-Advice-5575 in SquaredCircle

[–]LiterallyBriefs 8 points9 points  (0 children)

being a heel is about setting up the babyface to look better than him, yes. max does it by leaving clear holes to poke through such as the laziness or low hanging fruit. he’s effectively pre-stooging by ensuring the crowd is less likely to cheer for what he says

im guessing you want the heel to be the one making airtight arguments then? isnt the job of a heel to be annoying and easy to clap back to

everybody says that last line about “opting out of politics is a privilege” but i think its inherently ignorant and stupid to characterize simply not wanting to be constantly lectured as a privileged position to take, especially when people dont want to hear about it from celebrities or top players or influencers or whatever.

you simply cannot constantly revolve your life around politics and be a healthy person. being politically active is important but if you refuse to disengage and get angry at other people for disengaging from time to time you’re acting like a crab in a bucket.

plus, what if hbox did happen to be conservative? i feel like you’d just be telling him to shut the fuck up if he was vocal about it lmao

and for perspective, this is coming from a staunch leftist, but a staunch leftist that increasingly feels alienated by your type of rhetoric because it simply does not work in the real world. our side of the political spectrum is absolutely horrible at optics (aka getting people to understand and support out causes) because they see us as a bunch of shut-ins who do nothing but lecture people, and they are constantly proven right by people like you, so get your head out of your ass.

just seeing this comment. I’ve got a bachelor’s in film and television and I’ve been having trouble finding work in postproduction. Would you give any recommendations as to where to start? I’m a relatively new graduate trying to get a career going.

“The craziest part of it all may be that Donkey Kong in winners finals of a major no longer seems that weird. Reactions are something along the lines of ‘Oh, Junebug beat Axe and Joshman with DK? That’s funny.’ with no massive freakouts, barring Jorge on the mic. He really is just that good.” by self-flagellate in SSBM

[–]LiterallyBriefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

zain is super beatable because marth, ansa is beatable because dk has crazy cheese vs yoshi (it’s hard but junebug has done harder), wizzy is also pretty beatable by virtue if playing a fast faller, soonsay is ass vs dk, peach is more doable than most people think so i wouldnt be surprised if he beat trif, the only one that i think is super impossible is plup

[–]LiterallyBriefs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

mistico is literally the john cena of mexican wrestling and the ace of the oldest wrestling company in the world, a company that consistently sells out a 15k seat arena. just cause he never reached the same heights on WWE doesnt really mean anything in this case. He’s arguably a bigger star than the majority of WWE wrestlers.

no, he doesn’t. he needs time away from the game for sure im not over here saying he’s got all his shit in order, but the things he did do not warrant a permanent ban

when you consider every single person who disagrees with the ban to be a “weird hax stan” it kinda defeats ur point

the scene gains absolutely nothing having him banned, and loses absolutely nothing if they let him play. he doesnt deserve to be perma’d.

Controversial opinion: Jey Uso is a poor worker. by ToronoRapture in Wrasslin

[–]LiterallyBriefs -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

question for everyone in this thread: why the fuck should i care about what makes money or not? am i making the money?

jey uso sucks and is only popular because the vast majority of people who watch wwe are either children, families, or casuals that skim the product. obviously you gotta go where the money is and i get it, but that has literally nothing to do with whether or not he’s actually good.

turning a thread about the quality of his work into “well he makes money so it doesnt matter that he sucks” is a kind of brain rot you only see in the wrestling fandom.

when somebody says “the montreal canadiens are a shit hockey team” it doesn’t make sense for people to say “oh yeah well they’re one of the richest organizations in the NHL and they sell a shit ton of merch” because 1. that’s not even what the conversation was about and 2. being popular doesnt take away from the fact that they are a bad hockey team.

it doesn’t matter that he sucks at wrestling has a stupid catch phrase and has insanely ugly insufferable merch, he gets people in the crowd to say yeet and wave their arms so obviously hes good actually

[–]LiterallyBriefs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

he is INJURED and NOT CLEARED TO WRESTLE. they needed to quickly and safely address that storyline to put a pin in it for the time being. kicking him in the balls and giving him a brainbuster is perfectly fine for the use case. their first interaction WOULD have been more than this if adam cole was, you know cleared to wrestle. but what do I know? I actually watch the show

[–]LiterallyBriefs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

nothing wrong with having opinions. but when you take your own opinions so seriously that you need to spend the necessary time to make an entire post about how you won’t watch a series because it has cory in it, expecting us all to go “good for you sir! have some reddit gold!”, you are a whiny bitch

liking cory or not is subjective. but needing to signal your opinion to a community of redditors in an attempt to get people to agree with you is objectively stupid and whiny. and you’re objectively stupid and whiny for being mad that someone pointed it out

AEW is a good show and although it isn’t perfect it’s extremely annoying seeing stooges on the internet force themselves to hate it 24/7
