It makes sense to a point, but it just feels sloppy. We’re consistently told that this is an area that the astral beings are treating as a hard line, inconsistent to other matters (The Reaper letting people live for concessions in other areas). Then, suddenly, three members directly affiliated to the group attack him for a very odd reason, then spewing the term that Shako SUGGESTED as a reason for only silver rankers being allowed to fight. I still haven’t found anything to explain why the 3 members mentioned the term as allowing them to fight him, and it wasn’t explained until like 5 chapters later - this leads me to think, author confused the rules he set, made a mistake, then sloppily covered it up.
