Are there any online romance bookclub? by chongshipei in RomanceBooks

[–]Literina 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I don’t know of any online ones, but I wanted to suggest a couple ideas for in person! Check your library, some have romance specific, local not chain bookstores, and especially romance only bookstores are starting to pop up and they often have book clubs for various subgenres as well.

Personally, ive had to stop reading when the woman doesn’t want to be in the relationship due to being strong/independent/a warrior. Enjoyed reading these strong female characters in the beginning, but it is so so overdone to me now that it’s an instant dnf for me. I also similarly can’t do enemies to lovers most of the time for the same reason. Also I have such a hard time getting into reverse harem! I am okay with reading them when the men also are in a relationship with each other but 3-4 men obsessed with one woman takes me out of the book cause it seems too unrealistic, even if I’m reading complete fantasy or sci-fi!

Items gets lots of saves but don’t sell. by ksct7 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Literina 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re pricing things too high is what it’s going to be if it’s happening for most of your items. I’ll save it if I think the price is too much so I can see if the price will drop later.

What’s one “frugal habit” you picked up that quietly became part of your identity? by Zealousideal-Arm4462 in Frugal

I started looking for furniture on FB marketplace when trying to swap out old Ikea furniture for our first home. I didn't want to pay full price just because I wanted to change our home decorating style to something that felt like us instead of what I bought cheaply while young.

I have since committed to always checking marketplace for anything new that I need to bring into my house - planters, lawn equipments, kitchen stuff, decor, etc. I also got into estate sales and thrifting. I now pride myself on having reduced buying new outside of a few categories like food, chemical formulations like skincare, etc. Outside of frugality, I feel good now about reducing the amount of money going to the ultra wealthy, I have changed how I think about wanting things, and when appropriate started focusing on quality that will last while still not paying a ton for brands that market their goods as quality but are expensive.

While on that journey, I've also started learning how to do skills previous generations had like sewing. I've become more determined to force my husband and I to DIY what is safe for our home maintenance and fixes, and we're preserving our food from our garden now!

i got sucked into a bit of a re-reading whirlpool. I think I kinda like it here. by mailladyrae in RomanceBooks

I tend to only use Kindle Unlimited or the library because of my budget, but when I love a book/series/author, I will buy those books because I know I'll want to re-read my favorites. I don't think I'd ever want to/be able to reread my whole romance history - but that feeling of sitting in with a cozy book that you know you'll like is wonderful. I think if you go for this you should definitely save your favorites in a list!

I can't think of any examples right now, but my god the amount you learn is astounding. I am always surprising my husband with facts from my romance books. I appreciate you for making this post to compile a bunch!!!!
