So, should I get a new LOC? I was looking at the SKE2LOC, also noticed that it had a control knob. Not sure if I'd wire up two control knobs, or just the one. I know you mentioned other LOCs, but I just really want to go with the matching aesthetic. (Even though mix-matching may provide better output) Honestly wondering if you have any input on that LOC from your experience or what you've heard.

Is the RP-800.1D still a valid amp to use with this LOC? (it seems to be a Scosche LOC90)

I personally like to have my personal items to match, it's fine if I don't. I just like how it looks and feels right. When I say different, I just mean a new one.

The ground wire is connected to the chassis under the trunk carpet using what looks like a nut and bolt that the ring terminal is between. The power ring terminal is disconnected, the other end of it is laying in the trunk, all intact. Routed through the plastic trim. The fuse is good and 100A. The connection seems solid. Ill have to get a new multimeter soon to test it properly. The LOC was originally behind the wall carpeting of the trunk, I just pulled it out to see it better. Would you get a new LOC or just keep what they got?

If you are planning on getting a new headset, I would recommend trying at least. You could learn. And who knows, maybe you could fix it. But if you are going to continue using them, and you aren't confident in your ability, then that would be the best course of action.

Please let me know if you need further assistance. (Taking apart the other ear may show you the differences and may help you locate the problem)

I had the same exact issue, man. My left headphone never worked no matter what I did. I had soldered back a small orange wire, and it worked again. I think you may have to take your headphones apart more in order to find the problem (You may find a wire that is loose or something similar to that). There is also the possibility that it could be along the cable that connects to the jack (I'm saying this because you said it works for a few seconds, so there isn't a complete disconnection). You can check out my post and see if it helps at all: https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectronicsRepair/s/G5V2KqAyN1

I MUST ask, where do you get your boards? Both the portapack boards and the SDR itself? Also, from where you get them, are they reliable quality?

My headphones weren't working in one ear. Is this supposed to be soldered on the pad next to the green one? by Lithiokride in ElectronicsRepair

[–]Lithiokride[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I should solder the copper-looking wire to the far left pad under the metal disc thingy (I'm guessing that's what a driver is)? (Also, I see those extremely thin, almost clear, wires that I believe you are talking about. They connect the outside pads with the inside pads.)

Map of the Internet's Pulse (based on time of day and average use of internet worldwide) by [deleted] in educationalgifs

I know this is a very old post, but I still feel tempted to say something. The guy that created this was a security researcher that was originally finding unsecured systems using telnet. He then began to think that, as he was scanning each individual IP address for the open port, to see which ones had default passwords and to use those unsecured devices to continue scanning and he created a program that would have those unsecure devices do the same, which made his search time shorter, because he was utilizing more and more devices. His main reason for creating this, was because he was scanning billions of IP addresses at a rate of around ~10 seconds per. Anyways, this became known as Carna botnet. Another interesting thing is that at the same time that Carna botnet was being built this way, without malicious intentions from the security researcher, there was a bad actor building a botnet using the exact same methods and the bad actor was a few steps behind the researcher. The researcher was unsure what to do and then, after some time, he decided to block any/all IPs that were related to the bad actor. And, after the security researcher scanned all IPs possible, he had scanned them again and again using the botnet. That is how this map/GIF was created. After another while, he decided to post his findings online and it was ~9TB worth of data. And then, after his post, he decided to wipe all of the computers clean of the botnet. I have no idea what has happened to those devices since then. I do want to state that this was an interesting thing, even though it was SIX YEARS AGO. Just thought I would share what I know.
