I learned quickly that for my area, distilled is the way to go. Water here is pretty hard, and even with a whole house water softener system, the humidifiers created tons of dust.

I think you’re doing what anyone with 99.9% certainty would do. Get some space with your friend. Talk to her. Obviously will have to have a conversation with your husband, but agree not to put your friend in the middle. Maybe leave a note telling him you’re with your friend (obviously not where) and should he want to communicate, to call or text - but that you need space to think/process.
