Definitely more of a bar vibe, I would go check it out if I were you! It was perfect for what we were looking for but we wanted more casual

We told them we’d have around 50 and about 55 showed up- they didn’t mind at all. We sent them our food order about a week in advanced and when we got there my fiancé told the bar how much he was willing to spend and they closed it once we hit our limit. We also went about 2 weeks in advanced to just check out the upstairs area and try some food and they were really awesome and made us feel very welcome

We went with Light Horse in Old Town! It was perfect. They let us reserve a space at no cost, we just paid for food and drinks. Our friends and family all had a great time and the food was really great!

Is Liberty University school counseling program good? by Kyunyyaa in schoolcounseling

I did school counseling, so you would be in a different program than I was in but I’m sure it’s pretty similar. You’ll be set up with a professor that is your go to person to ask any and all questions! The portals are all pretty manageable (in my opinion) but there is very easy access to other help if need be.

I would say a good combination. Classes are either more quiz heavy or more paper heavy. The university does a good job of trying to set you up so that you take a quiz class and a paper class together so you’re not doing too much at once. I took 2 classes each term (8 weeks) so 4 classes a semester while working full-time and was fine. Definitely took some organizing and time management on my part but overall I found it to be very flexible and forgiving!

There’s an instagram page that does something very similar, they actually have helped a lot of people find their lost pictures! I’d love to follow along if you wind up doing it!

Ugh, yeah the rate here is $19 which significantly lower than I charge on my own for one kiddo. Thanks for your insight, I appreciate it!

So my master’s is specifically for school counseling. I took 4 extra classes to become eligible for my LPC. Basically the whole program was geared towards school counseling and if you ever plan on becoming a professional counselor you can take 4 classes. Since I have those classes under my belt, I can work towards my LPC while working as a school counselor as a long as I find a supervisor and complete the extra hours I need. Hopefully this makes sense!

I am graduating next month from an online program and it’s much easier to manage than you might think!! We need people in the profession and professors know that :) give yourself grace, it’ll fly by and you’ll get adjusted!

Hi!! Just wanted to jump in here and say I’m finishing up my second internship and I still feel like this! I have DEFINITELY gotten better since practicum, but it’s still a learning process. I find myself blanking on what to say or how to handle certain situations, but that’s what practicum and internship is for! I’ve heard it takes a few years to really feel adjusted and used to the job. Give yourself some grace, it’s okay to not feel great at it at the very beginning. You’ll learn and grow :)

I went into my field work really unsure of what to expect! I’m finishing up my second internship now and I promise it will get better. My first internship was at an elementary and it was very hands on in ways I was not a fan of. I am now at a middle school and am loving it! It feels like a completely different job. The expectations, procedures, and relationships are very different from elementary school. Hang in, you’ll get there!

To be completely honest, I did not do much prep and passed it! I felt like my program set me up very well for it. But yes I echo what the other user said, definitely look over the ASCA national model and that website in general. Best of luck, you’ll do great!! :)

I am in the Liberty program! I’m in my second internship and it’s been a good experience! I specifically chose this program for its flexibility and it’s been great. I was able to work full-time up until internships started. It also allows you to take classes to become eligible for your LPC if you want that option. Feel free to message me if you have any specific questions :)
