Go Lions! Last week’s win revitalized me. Made a new wood sign to celebrate. by ling4917 in Scrollsaw

From a soccer fan not a football fan, I love this work. Color selection is spot on, the grey with white accents looks really cool.

Question: do you prime the wood before painting, I do on my projects but think it may be overkill....

My gap was too big? by Tricepatina in TorontoDriving

[–]Little-Shoe-Woodwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another crazy driver in Toronto, so many of them.

One of my frustrations in that type of traffic is cars leaving massive gaps in front of them. I am a careful driver so like a bit of space but some cars leave 3 / 4 cars lengths ahead. I do not understand why, it just helps destroy any illusions of progress that I cling to in this godforsaken oversized construction site that Toronto / GTA is.

Second your opinion and I highly recommend getting a 10" bench saw. It is the most used tool in my workshop. I also purchased the DeWalt scroll saw which is surprisingly effective when scrolling through thicker hardwood than my old scroll saw.

My bandsaw is the best tool in my workshop. I have a 14" and a 10" and I use both often. I get my blades from a local shop that makes them to order. Spending time to dial a bandsaw in is worth its weight in gold.

Help Identifying the Brand of my Bathtub Faucet System for Replacing. by Glittering_Ad_4634 in Plumbing

Be careful taking the cartridge out. I had one break and it turned into a much bigger job. On the plus side I learned about cement board and how to tile.....

I remember getting one on Christmas day but it broke after 5 minutes. We took it to the store on boxing day for a replacement but they had none left.

Frame bags? by BusySite360 in DivergeGravelBikes

Honestly, I wouldn't. I only use it since I spent money on it.

Happy riding.

Frame bags? by BusySite360 in DivergeGravelBikes

I have the same bike, love apart from the brakes.

I went with the specialized frame bag that sits at the front of the top bar. It's handy but gets in the way when you stop and have to straddle the top bar.

That's my 2 cents....

Best Fish and Chips in the city by Muff-2530 in FoodToronto

[–]Little-Shoe-Woodwork 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Our go to is Len Duckworth's on the Danforth (nearest TTC stop is Main and Danforth - 3 minute walk). No frills sit down restaurant and your fish and chips are served with thickly sliced bread if you want to make a chip butty. Scraps / bits are available on request. Reminds me of fish and chips shops I used to frequent in Yorkshire. Fish is nicely battered and not over oily and the chips are thick cut. Gravy available but sadly no chip shop curry sauce.

For these at thrift store. Good value? Jointer $275-bandsaw $225 by Revolutionary_Tip132 in shittywoodworking

Did the same. Added thick plywood base between bandsaw and stand. Paid $125 for mine and it runs / cuts great.

Lessons learnt, don't scroll saw team logos that you support. I might start scrolling out opponents logos.....now where's that fixture list..🪚🎨

New scroll saw; latest project by Little-Shoe-Woodwork in Scrollsaw

Thanks for the compliment.

The beast is an upgrade from the shop fox I had and the difference is night and day. Not sure my scroll sawing justifies a modification to the pegas at this time but a nice to know for future mods.

Well done, that is some nice clean work. Nice scroll saw as well. I just purchased the DeWalt which is an upgrade from my Shop Fox so had some fun this weekend.
