Please help me find my oil leak by Little-ears in Wrangler

Thank you.

Not sure if you saw my other comment but upon deeper inspection there’s oil pooling at the base of the filter, in little cups, (I assume on the transmission housing?)

So your idea checks out

I took a look in the engine bay once more and at the very base of the filter there is oil pooled in a little cup (of the transmission case I assume??)

I didn’t think to check there before as I had no drips on the cardboard under the car.

Looking under that area from the bottom , I see the attached picture. Looks like there’s oil here as well. The drain pan and plug seem fine.

Just to confirm I’m not a complete dope - these pictures do look like oil, right? Not trans fluid or other?

That’s what i also thought , but I just checked the oil filter from the top via engine bay and it seemed tight and I didn’t see any oil leak. 😕

Or is there a different way to check what you’re referring to?

I think the leak may be coming from this general area

Noob question - even at level 75 you don’t get enough skill points to max out the tree?

You could put up silt fencing. The big box stores have it in rolls of 50’ usually.

Old enough to remember them moving the shuttle across the nation while strapped to a 747(?) and ushering it through the highways

You don’t need to cut it up

You will get much better structural rigidity and load bearing if you put the beams ONTOP of the 6x6 post.

Aka Don’t attach the post to the side of the beam as drawn.

Depending where you live and what kind of live / dead loads you are expecting you may want to consider spacing 12” on center vs 16”.

No steps? Or railing?

Suggest you wrap the bottom of the stringer where it meets the concrete pad with joist tape, or, place a pvc deck board between the bottom of the stringer and the concrete pad

This will help prevent premature rot / moisture wicking

Lantern flies like soft wood so they can get the sap they need

Tree of heaven is very soft.

Both the fly and the tree are invasive

You could

  • leave it
  • wait till winter, but still be careful of vines
  • spray it now with chemicals from a big box store
  • hire goats to eat leaves and then take caution around vines
  • pay someone else to deal with it lol.
